Free Grace missionary here, literally driving down Uganda, listening to this, Shawn was asking about how to equalize between American wealthy, churches and poor churches in Third World countries, the problem is I see it is many people in Third World countries are professional scammers, and I have seen many many many national pastors/Christians misleading, American donors and funders. Here in Uganda there’s literally a culture of professionally scamming Americans. Unfortunately, a lot of people in these Third World countries they know how to do a really good job of pretending that they are serving Christ. I think a lot of times Americans just don’t really understand how deep the cultural differences are between us wealthy Americans, and poverty stricken people in Third World countries. In my opinion, if you want to help support poor foreign churches it’s almost always better to do that through a missionary or organization you know and trust that’s on the ground. Every project I’ve seen personally in Uganda, where money is being given to the nationals, but where there is not somebody on the ground, has resulted in abuse and misuse of funds.

Yeah, I've felt the burden of tithing being taught as law in the Church, and I'm sure there are many others ✝️
