- I purchased this in tandem with my Marlin Carlifornia dial watch as I was looking for a 34mm watch with a vintage vibe and boy did this Timex Marlin deliver.
After holding this beauty in my hand, I now know why Timex is making the massive resurgence in popularity and that if they started making mechnical watches, they can definitely go up against Seiko and Citizen in the entry level watch market.

Been wearing my Marlim reissue daily for over a year. This thing takes a beating, runs great, and looks fantastic.
Hi, are the springbars on your marlin abit loose in the lug holes and do they make clicking sounds when you wiggle them?
Mine does so im trying to find out if its faulty or if all marlins do this.
Takes a licking and keeps on ticking!
Pleased you liked it, have you worn the old 1960’s versions?.
Loved the video! It was well made and informative, thank you much
Great Video!!
Great review! It's good to see Timex are bringing back some smaller mechanical watches. I have a Timex mk1 mechanical at 36mm which is perfect for my small 6.5" wrists.
I bought this a couple months ago. It’s really a beautiful watch. I also have a 6.25 inch wrist and it’s a great size for me.
That is a beautiful watch and 34mm suits you perfectly!
almost 550 subs. Congrats!
Soon! Will be pushing out new vids Soo, had to wait for new watches to arrive
The movement is a Seagull St6 handwound movement. Robust, reliable and long lived.
Yes, value for value this may not be the best, yes 200 is not much by todays watch standards but if you pay more you can have a seiko 5 for example which is way better. But gosh, that styling and that dial!! love the 34mm, and no date gives me all the vintage vibes...
Love this design, may go for it
Nice watch
Hey! Great videos. I just watched this one and the California dial Timex. Also subscribed. Hope to continue watching new videos and will go back to watch previous videos. Thanks and keep up the good reviews.
EDIT: for the residue, try to remove it with some soapy solution like the one used to clean eyeglasses. It’s not to abrasive and you can use just a little spray of it with a microfiber cloth.
Thanks for the sub! Will try the soapy wash, will give the watch a little bath
34mm is the new 40mm
100% agree, though its probably more that people see 40mm as the new 34mm which is a shame. Small watches are so charming.
It's look identical with Atlantic Worldmaster
Cleaning alcohol will get rid of that glue gunk. Can pick up a bottle at Jaycar, or just get the alcoholic wipes from any pharmacy.
Hey thanks for the tip!
Does it have indiglo light or luminous in the dark?
No. Its just a classy dress watch. Dress watches dont really have lume
I was thinking of getting one of these, but from the look of it, it reminds me of a HMT Janata. So I'll give it a pass.
In all honesty comparing the reissue to the original 1965 model, the dial differed, in that they had removed the Phosphorus hands, they also omitted the Phosphorus dots by each number by the rim, the reissue was slightly taller than the original, not being chrome plated, meant no scaling, so a bonus, the reissue was lighter than the original, both had virtually same Arabic number, similar shaped lugs, a good likeness, odd how the second hand stopped when changing the time on the reissue, it keen on the acrylic crystal, liked glass, the strap was rubbish on the reissue, preferably liked my original 1965 Marlin instead.
Awesome watch... but its mechanical hand wind only, not and auto..
