I think having the tv in the middle of the bookshelf looks cool! Can't wait to see the finished library

I love that set up with tv! I would personally have the same bookshelf layout (this is my IDEAL setup) a bigger tv and mounted to the wall with hidden cords as well as backlight leds that sync up with the image on the tv. A sound system or sound bar mounted under the tv. Some sort of lighting for the bookshelf itself. A nice rectangular ottoman or even upholstered bench in front of the tv. And a really comfy couch and chairs with footstools or reclining and of course blankets and end tables! And personally my books would be organized by color just to make the bookshelf POP 🌈✨
Love that for you!! We had one of the backlight LED strips on our TV in our previous house and I realized very quickly I liked to watch TV without it hahaha!
So inspiring. Just got back into reading and can’t wait to start collecting books to have a room full of it.

That's what I did in this video: genre then by last name- just prefer to organize by authors last name than first!
Thanks for this video. I have a huge book collection and have been told to catalogue it for insurance purposes. It is scary when you look at the value. I just downloaded Libib and it looks pretty straightforward. Always love your content even though our ages are quite a few decades apart 💖
It's even more fun if you grab a barcode scanner off Amazon and then you can scan all your books😂👏🏻

Carissa Broadbent is slowly rolling out her books with Bramble. So I think the ones you have are her indie print, but the first book was discontinued since it's being reprinted.

The paperback of Serpent in the Dove that comes out in May is likely the normal paperback size. You’re gonna have mismatched editions.
Don’t know if they do it elsewhere, but in Australia, when a book is first released, it comes out in tall paperback format. Than about a year later, they stop selling it in that size and switch to normal paperback size.
I ended up returning it because I cant stand mismatched size books😅😅
❤❤ the reason you couldn't find/get the 1st book (The Serpent & the wings of Night) is because the series got picked up by a publisher, so you probably bought the 2nd one right before they finished their stock of them, the series is coming/came out with new covers, which isnt that different from the original ones. I hope that answers that question 😅

There's a select few I will reread but my library is mainly my 4-5 star all time favourite reads!!
I get the tv perspective, but I think the tv is still great because fall and Christmas ambiance videos on a cooler or gloomy day are life.

You might want to push the books more forward. When they are right against the back of the shelf, they are more inclined to get moldy
We've actually never had this issue before! And I've had the same bookshelves for the last five years!! I didn't know this was a thing😅 but we also have a very dry (not humid) house so I think we should be good!

So after reading all these books, what do you do with them? Do they just become decorations or what? I'm so curious as I'd love to start reading books more and swap that for binge watching Netflix series but i don't have enough space for so many books, i love physical books as compared to e-books etc. I'm kinda pld school
Depends on the book! The only books I keep are 4-5 star reads (so my all time favourites) or books to read! Anything 3 stars and under I donate to little libraries or thrift stores! I also read a ton on my e/reader and it is a great route if you don't have a ton of space! You also don't need to keep as many books as I do- we all have different book buying/keeping strategies! But books have always been something I've collected since I was a kid- there's just something about having a collection of My favourite books that makes me happy! We never used to have this much room for our books (we only moved in 3 months ago) so before I was just alot pickier on the books I kept since we didn't have a ton of space 🥰
I was always a die hard physical book girl too- but after I had my baby, now a toddler, it became impractical to buy physical books or constantly go across town to the library, so I started trying ebooks through my library’s app!
Definitely take advantage of your local library either way, but I looked up ways to make it less straining on my eyes to read on my old iPad and my phone, then downloaded my library app, the Libby app, and the kindle app. It makes it so much easier and faster to get books on hold and instantly download them to the kindle app to read and I never have to pay for books! They also have audio books if you wanna listen while cleaning.
Again, I still prefer physical books but I learned to appreciate the alternatives at a time in my life where it’s not as practical lol. I also read more diversely now because I won’t feel bad if I don’t like a book that I was unsure about, because I didn’t pay for it 😂

I had the entire TOG series and the CC books on my bookshelf and showed them in the video! But I wasn't a fan of ACOTAR so I got rid of that series☺️

@@MrsSweep to be honest I'm pretty hesitant to read them since I did not like ACOTAR at all so I didn't really talk about them much in the video but they are there hahah!
@CarterSullivan I'm actually reading the last book in the ACOTAR series now. It was my first time reading fantasy! I kinda surprised myself by reading the series. I enjoyed reading it!
@@MrsSweep honestly, I am so happy other people loved it and it has been a good introduction to fantasy!! I just think there's so many amazing fantasy series out there that don't get the hype . They deserve because of some of these overhyped books!!
A collection is not complete without ACOTAR I didn’t see it
My collection is complete without it because I wasn't a fan of the series so I got rid of them😅 I only want to keep books in our home library that I loved and would recommend to others and ACOTAR was very overhyped to me sadly
you should have blurred your phone bc someone calls you and their number comes up!
It was a telemarketer, so I'm not too concerned about sharing their phone number on the Internet.. they deserve it😂
