The lower your hp is for this quest the better as you gain more value for healing per inventory space. let's say you are 40hp it would take 2 sharks to heal to full vs being 60hp, it takes 3. Boss preforms the High damage special roughly every minute. In my case, 2 food + 18hp from redemption prayer would restore around 75% hp and regain remaining amount with blood spells hopefully. 23 food total, 2 prayer pots allowed me to survive for roughly 9 mins. Blood spells sustain hp for the most part.

Does pray flicking like that actually have any affect? You basically still have pray on the whole time with a downtime of like a millisecond between flicks it seems. Seems kinda pointless
prayer doesn't drain if you flick it like this

@@FrequentlyPlays You have to click twice every tick. One tick is 0.6 seconds. What you do is enable prayer,(usually by quick prayer so you can enable defensive and offensive prayers all at once. When prayer is enabled, click twice in the same tick, then the next tick you click twice again, and then the tick after that click twice again.
The two clicks you do have to be on the same tick, you will notice if you mess up if your prayer disables, that means you clicked disabled on one tick and enable on the other, ruining your prayere flicking.
This method is very click intensive but means you don't drain any prayer.
Search on youtube 1-tick prayer and dearlola has a video on it that can help how to use a plugin in RuneLite to make it easier to visualize and learn. TH-cam seems to be deleting my comments I hope you can see one of them lol

Watching this while prepping to do it on my gim.. Was 5:25 not a chance? since the attack does up to max health -1 and you have 75 hp? She hits 74 on you in the fight, but in this instance she hit 72..
not below 33% hp to do max health -1, was at 45% hp which is max hitpoints - 3.

no, you need to eat up to full for the 1hp attack. With low prayer/high hp they're better than using redemption tho

Was able to do this boss fight with 100 magic attack, 13 prayer and 0 magic damage bonus… 80 magic for blood blitz. And making tuna potatoes(heal 22) was what did it for me. Also don’t bring knives and blood blitz the healing tornados(won’t have to move to be in range and they heal around 5hp per tornado, helps with sustain and an extra food slot). Only eat once right after the big hit and then after healing tornadoes right before big hit. Worked for me on 3rd attempt as an Ironman
you'll loose more hp than you gain by taking longer to kill the tornadoes
I don't get it. I had similar setup but only got to boss 33% hp. Maybe he was lucky and I was unlucky, not like I did as tick perfect as he did.

this fight is literally just a 0 skill food endurance run. Horrible.
damn is that a glitch with the prayers
its a bug that got named as a feature by the devs. a very old one. by turning prayer off as soon as you turn it on, you can lose a very low amount of prayer. even nothing if you're exceptionally good at it.
It's also called prayer flicking if that's what you're referring to. Then there's another prayer "glitch that got named a feature" that you can see at 6:45. At that point his prayer gets drained fully but he drinks a prayer pot on the same/next gametick. This is how he stops his prayers from being disabled.
@@aztekenen1 more specifically you need to have your prayer off when the tick happens and on mid-tick.

I'm really bad at identifying gear. What gear are you using? I'm significantly higher stats and have brews unlocked but just can't seem to beat this boss. I made it through DS2 without too much difficulty, but I'm just stuck here. 88 mage, 93 def, 92 hp, 77 prayer (no augury). Was gonna try to get 99 def and trident but seeing this, I know I should be able to do it where I'm at now
Might be relevant to mention that I'm really bad at flicking, so usually won't do it on tough fights like this
This fight is about damage. Put out the highest damage possible because this boss does unavoidable damage anyway. Use the best trident you can afford and throwing knives for the healers. Speed and damage.
I did this with 1 def using blood spells and sharks. No need to level defense. No need for brews. I didn't even bring a fast weapon for the healing stage. You can heal to full using blood spells between last specs and just eat 1 shark immediately after the big hit to avoid getting comboed out.
