I love how the character either tell their enemy to stay down or just blabber utter nonsense. Like imagine you just cut someone to pieces and absolutely destroy them, and you just say 'I like strawberry ice cream.' right after.
I think that'd be a pretty good way of telling someone to stay down
If you just went "I like ice cream" or started talking about something completely unrelated they'd think that you barely even cared about the fight in the first place
Meanwhile bedman has an entire paragraph relating strawberry ice cream to human morality.

This looks less like a fighting game and more like a straight up anime! Animation is getting so much better, lately!

More often these days I find that animation in video games is better than in anime.
Part of it is Gaming designers have more time to polish it then anime animators
It's because they're 3D models mimicking anime animation style, which are much easier to animate. I don't know the specifics but it's really fucking cool.
Which is why they were chosen to make DB FighterZ. The most good looking DBZ game yet.

Lot of hard work went into making the art on this game look so good. You can find videos explaining it though the short form is the developers were redoing the the lighting and to a certain extent even the entire models for every frame of each animation, basically treating the whole thing as if it was 2D animation using 3D models rather than using _any_ of the shortcuts that going 3D theoretically would have allowed them.
There’s a cool video about the way this game treats the transition to 3D and I think it’s a really good explanation for why this game looks so good. I’ll find a link

Most people agree the 3d guilty gears were really good
Its just not popular, which is unfortunate because it has by far the most likable character roster of any fighting game.
I think people are scared away by the complexity, which is upsetting since guilty gear really isnt all that much harder than street fighter (some things are harder, some easier).

Guts is pretty much a walking post traumatic incident and Sol had to beat his wife almost every fucking game.
Yeah, if Guts' reaction to tragedy was dressing up in a punk outfit, spiking his hair and kicking ass to the tune of Queen music. I mean really, the story's decently similar, it's more of their attitude. Guts is a relatable hard-ass who lets himself cry when there's time for it... Sol's just a massive nerd with 200 lbs of muscle and magic genetics.

Redux Dude “They don’t kill each other” ironic considering the fact that they’re called instant kills.
I mean, a lot of them say things like "Stay down" and "You shouldn't get up" after their instant kills , which are things you'd say if your target was still alive, just incapacitated.
I think 'Instant Kill' just refers more to the fact that it's an instant KO to the opponent.

There's no fighting game out like this using this SICK high quality of Animation incorporated seamless with gameplay. This game is unreal. This and Injustice 2 dopest fighters of 2017. Capcom needs to let Arcs System develop Street Fighter using this style

Have to say, some of the earlier Insta-Kills really show their age compared to the newer ones.
Also I'd like to point out that the bloodstain in the house on Baiken's Insta-Kill doesn't slide with the house itself.
