I love this song. I remember the first time I saw this video as a teenager back in the day, and my mom watched it with me. She was horrified. Luckily for me that my mom is a huge metel fan, and eventually started to like Cradle herself.
And TH-cam is stupid, they cant make their mind up on whats appropriate or not.

I remember being 15-16 and this being the real shit. Still love the video a couple years later tho, once a Cradle fan, forever a Cradle fan (esp. now that they will be releasing a new album this year, KREYGASM).
Anyways, this was one hell of a journey, I was definitely searching for something like that - a series of reactions on any of the bands I listen to, and it appeared one of the most cult-like bands. Awesome, amazinf series of reactions

My very favorite CoF song is "Of Mist and Midnight Skies" from The Principle of Evil Made Flesh, so I'd suggest that. Also, any Mortiis song.
I watched the video in separate window on my screen and managed to sync it with your reaction. Worked very well. I remember watching that video on music tv, long before TH-cam. As far as I remember the lady part was pixeled out, but they showed the rest. We had it recorded on VHS tape. Old days when you waited in front of tv with remote control at the ready, to record your favourite videos on a tape, when they played them.

Great song to end on for COF week! This is where they started to shift their music from the first 4 albums but its still great. Alice you mentioned that you wish they would do something with Phantom of the Opera. I racked my brain once you said cause I remember COF had something related to POTO, and yes they do! Its not much lol sorry but on their 1st album the beginning of the song Of Mist and Midnight Skies has music from the 1920 film Phantom of the Opera

Here in Germany, there's no warning preceeding the uncensored video on TH-cam.
When they used to show this video on MTV2 in the UK ( after midnight ) around 2000 the only bit they censored was ''revelations''. Seriously.

This was their first video. Apparently Dani has become tired of performing the song live. You haven't scratched the surface of what Cradle Of Filth has to offer; you have begun to pick at the scab.

For your "special" video, I'd appreciate "Amor E Morte" but that would be quite a challenge.. the general meaning of the song is clear but there are so many cryptic passages and words long forgotten by humankind!

Dusk and her embrace, from back when Nicholas Barker was in the band. Like one of the sickest metal drummers ever. The old laggy video can barely keep up with how fast this guy is. Dani's voice was amazing back then. Not the greatest quality, better then some bootlegged crap, but damn do they rip it up!

Lord Abortion! It doesn't get any more brutal than this from Filth! They never went this far ever again! Extremely well written and eloquent as always, but going straight for the jugular!
Really aging myself, but I discovered Filth a bit after 9-11 and have been a fan ever since. Saw them in 03 on the Damnation and a Day tour. Great band, really polarizing among metal fans, you either love them or hate them. Those unique vocals, you'd never mistake them for anyone else!

I'm... pretty sure a dictionary is not enough to understand what Dani tries to say in there... you have to know the references, quotes, etc... There's none in metal that wrote/writes lyrics like him. At least at that time (I stopped being interesting in them after Damnation and a Day).
Old Cradle stuff is nice. Cruelty will always be remembered as very good for me even CoF isnt the shit for me anymore but it was a good entrance to the stuff i like today. For me Dany was always the weakest part of the Chain that is CoF, or at least for me, WAS CoF, cause the CoF that i liked was Stuard Antsis, Nic Barker and the other fellows i consider realy good musicians. Danys voice always feelt off for my ears at least, but i liked his writting and the absulut genius instrumentals of Cruelty aera CoF let me always ignore his voice. It didnt bother me that it wasnt pleasing to me, the rest was too good. But today i am not a fan of Danis writting, even Cruelty ones, at this point anymore. His style would perfectly fit into barok times and at this point i realy get why goth and goth-ish people are so damn imprest by it but for modern times i think the writting of Mgla`s "M" fits far more better. Its realy philosophical but with more modern themes in it. Its like Nitsche would have written his nihilistic stuff just a few years ago and uses religios images as references on what went wrong with humanity up to the point how fucked up we are today. But i think without CoF introducing me to more extreme Metal subgenres i probatly never would now what for example Mgla is, today. Sooooo i gues i will be always greatfull for that? ^^
