I swear there was a major quality dip in EastEnders after 2005. Took them ages to build back up to anything half-decent. All the best characters who left/died and the storylines that ended by the end of 2005 left a massive void that 2006 failed to fill, even if they did bring in a few good characters, but the rest of the 00s were massively "meh" in comparison. Kat and Alfie have been a joke since their brilliant Christmas 2005 exit. Why the hell did they bring them back just to ruin everything?
