Grant played the role of the admiring younger brother perfectly. Peggy played the role as mother and head of the family brilliantly also. The casting and story writers done a good job
That was classic EE Villain VS Brookside Villain fantasy storyline. How cool would it have been if they could have got the rights to the Barry Grant character from C4 and have the character move to the Square?
Brookside was very underated. I always loved it. They had some real dark and realistic storylines also. They had storylines EastEnders would never have been able to get away with due to BBC censorship.
Younger grant yes not now! When grant came back in 2016 he just waved a bat at a group of young guys who were holding Ben hostage! When keanu got jumped Phil went through those guys like superman!
Danny Hardcastle yep he is one of my favourite villains in EastEnders Phil use to be back in the 90s but not anymore also Dan Sullivan he was another one of my favourites as well does anyone remember tricky Dicky

Paul usher always played a good villain. As Barry Grant in brookside he was one of the soaps nastiest villains people reckon. He played a good part as a bent copper and a killer In the Bill and he not bad in this either.
Des Taviner was one of the best characters in The Bill and that's saying something because there were plenty of great characters in the show. I had stopped watching EastEnders by this point but it is good to see that Phil is still the same as ever.

The problem with eastenders is that in the end there is always someone bigger and tougher the Mitchell's reign should have come to an end years ago I mean Phil's about 50 in the real world younger hard men would be around
I didnt know Paul Usher before I began to wath The Bill in 2022. I began to watch it it from Season 23 because of Sam Callis as I watched just before it London's Burning which was broadcasted in France in 2005,in french and Im myself French and from Series 8 I think to Final Season .And I watched it in english ,which is different. And then in 2022 ,I knew Desmond Taviner and Paul Usher is a good Singer too.
The fight between phil and midge and how phil is during the fight reminds me of how he was when he confronted dirty den in angies den on Xmas day 2003 and when he came back on the run in April 2005, and when he beat up Jamie in October 2002 after Lisa ran off with Lou and Phil finding out Jamie knew Lisa was running off and didn't tell him.
