About the guns, it's soldiers on leave. Without uniforms, but carrying big guns. It's part of a stringent law to never leave your weapon unattended because it might be stolen or misused. In other words they are just metal pipes while sitting. Every soldier is required to have their gun with them at all times and can't leave it unattended while off base for even a second. Part of the whole gun safety thing. Bus drivers are insane! Life is def expensive.
I hope they carry magazines or have ready access to same or what is the point of carrying an unloaded weapon? I assume the former, since Israel is known as a safe country (because of the guns carried by soldiers rather than civilians)
We do carry a magazine with us, but even if we don’t (witch doesn’t supposed to happen) we carry the gun as a part of safety, leaving the gun is dangerous and it’s not responsible..

True, Israel has very high security because of the situation we are in ... and it is a good thing that it is better to protect the citizens. There are places in Israel that you can eat cheaply and also in Tel Aviv just learn it over time. Hope you enjoy our amazing Israel. Welcome!!🌹

Jim Green as an Israeli person I can’t relate, I hate Israeli music. But I suppose in 86 the music was better. I really love the 70s in the israeli music
If you ever visit Israel again make sure to visit the North. It is not as expensive and it's gorgeous. The center of Israel, like Tel Aviv is a lot more expensive. The South is also very beautiful. And about the guns, we really do have strict gun laws and cautionary instructions. Soldiers who carry guns know what they're doing, although one can always take more cautionary steps. Hope you had a good time.
Also, Large guns are called assult rifles and they are always without the clip (ammo) in it. all rifles are checked for leftover bullets before leaving a base so don't mind where the gun is pointing because there isn't a bullet in there for sure.
My friends, Jesus never was in Tel Aviv xD Welcome to Israel, from an Israeli who is very glad to see foreigners coming here. Its sad, because of the politics, a lot of people don't want to come because they're scared of a war, or they don't like Israel so much these days, etc...its very good to see people coming. Welcome to my country
You're still in Tel Aviv, make sure you go to a little restaurant called Abu Hassan for THE BEST hummus ever! It's located in the old town of Jaffa and they make a pot a day only..once that's finished, they close..so go early :)
This is something most non-Israelis don't know, but despite the airport code being TLV, Ben Gurion Airport is not in Tel Aviv at all. The airport is actually situated in Lod, some 20 kilometers (12 miles I think) from Tel Aviv. That's why you needed to use a bus to Tel Aviv and why it took half an hour to get there- you weren't in Tel Aviv in the first place. Also, I agree, bus drivers are _insane,_ and yes it's comparatively quite expensive to buy food, but remember that Israel is a semi-desert in many places and many items are in fact imported.
You are right. Best to have more than one passport when travelling to Israel if non-favoured countries stamp your passport. The reverse is the case as well. I would be staggered if Israel border control caused problems for US passport holders as they are their closest ally. Especially recently.
I am argentinian and it took me no more than 7 mins. When I leaved the country the lady employee ask if I wanted the passport stamp (I passed to Egypt). I sed yes of course, the passport is mine, and I had no problem.
I am from Israel. The army in Israel is a must from the age of 18 to 20 - 21 and everything is so expensive... Shabat is Saturday and shalom to you too
FYI - The gun was actually safe, there's a small bullet-like shape that you insert in the gun with a string that prevents it from loading an actual bullet into the chamber. so if you'd wanna shot the gun, you'd have to reload it twice in a row and shot.
don't worry the guns have safety mechanism so it cants shoot without disabling the safety. but the soldiers are must to carry the gun with them at all times unless to give it to safekeeping at the base.
I'm from Israel (guess you can see that by my name) and I think you might see all these soldiers (they don't let people but cops, security guards or soldiers buy a gun in Israel) because you were close to the military base in Tel Aviv. going to see the next video. you look like fun couple.
Love Israel from United Kingdom! It's the first time I am watching your channel and you guys are so cute! I will keep on watching your vids (subscribed!!!) - good luck and thanks!
from my experience , the soldiers are not allowed to leave the base with loaded guns , they have an emergency magazine but they are not allowed to put it in the gun in addition they usually check their own gun before leaving their house i also learned they are not allowed to leave the gun at home when on vacation
As someone who lives in Israel Tel Aviv is super expensive, if you go to a small cities like Givataim or cities like that the food is a bit cheaper and it’s more fun, have fun in the holy land!!!
Most people who have guns on the streets are needed to have them because they are in the army and they have to take their gun everywhere, in the street, at home, in the military base, basically everywhere, so when you saw people in a bar/restaurant with an m16/ a gun or anything else then its fine, it just means they are in the army :) p.s. Shalom = Hello, Shabat Shalom = is to to bless the shabat (last day of the week) so the other person will have a good shabat Le - Hi - Tra - Ot = Goodbye,( or you can just say bye :P)
I started watching your videos when you were in India, and now I'm hooked! I just subscribed, so I am looking forward to keeping up with you guys as you travel the world!
I am so sorry i didnt warn you about the busses there. They are definately an adventure. You need get on quick. Oh and yes the food all over is expensive but...there is a 5 shekel place all over israel called cofis. Try it for cheap food. There is one in the wall area. Geulah jerusalem. Ect....shabat sholom is good sabath it is used for fri eve and sat day. Also you can say lahitraote it means litterally 'until we meet again.' Keep on vlogging!
I came to Israel in 1960 as a tourist, when Jerusalem was still divided and the country was very small. I am still here but the country is now big (!) and flourishing and yes, there were wars and moments of great tension, but it was all worth it in order to see this country now!
The light rail construction is actually happening, you happened to walk by Arlozorov Station, and your hostel is near Allenby Station, those are both underground stations so the construction is happening 20-30 meters below you which is why you didn't see anyone
The main reason they don't stamp your passport in Israel is because other countries will reject entry for you if you have an Israel stamp in your passport especially Jordan. I can't wait see the rest of upcoming videos hope you have a nice time in Israel thanks for visiting and showing us Salam brothers and sister
I live in Israel and i just wanted to explain to you about all the soldiers with the weapons that during the time that you serve the country in the military, you have to carry weapon with you wherever you go wearing the uniform. It is like that so the soldiers would look nicely represented and also for safety reasons.
About gun safety: the guns usually have a barrel block. It's a red plug inserted to the barrel which signifies that there are no bullets in the barrel. This shows you have nothing to worry about
Our church here in USA takes two groups to Israel twice a summer and we were soooooo blessed each and everyone of us and we all want to go back again .We love Israel!
Wow. Do make indepth videos of religious/historical sites that you visit in Jerusalem and Nazareth. What is so wonderful is that three religions have their origins here
I am an Israeli and my first flight was on a national scale. When we entered the airport, they started asking us thousands of questions. I did not understand what they wanted. I just wanted to get to Tel Aviv from the airport in Eilat and from Tel Aviv to my house in Rehovot.
You two are so so so adorable!! I cannot believe I've never seen your channel before, I love travelling and your contents is so interesting! Also I am from Israel, so it's extra fun seeing you having a first impression on my country.
Glad to see you are in Israel. I lived therr way back in 1974. I always felt safer seeing the israeli military carrying weapons. Btw when in public places they do not have the weapons loaded with bullets the magazine iscarried separately. Also Israel is a place with bad drivers but i would love to be there again.
I can't believe this, my uncle is one of the owners of Abram's Hostel, i go there all the time, i just happen to come across this video. A very pleasant suprise
Gun control is actually REALLY strict in Israel, all of the people you saw with guns are soldiers. All soldiers who their job is to be a fighter have to take their gun home with them, and also are not allowed to leave the gun alone so no one would steal it and will use it for bad reasons.. Also the guns are not loaded and are "locked" so they will never shoot unintentionally.. There are TONS of precautions so you really don't need to be worry, in Israel you can't own a gun if you don't work at security (and even then..) super safe and fun! hope this explains a little bit :)
I am working that security company which swiped you on the gate area. But in Izmir airport. Israel requested like that for all aviation companies has to hire security for even if the plane use their air territory so this is not for all flights :) Just for Israel and all UK flights from Turkey to UK :)
I have been wanting to go to Israel. DEFINITELY on my bucket list!! I have thought and said the same thing.......I could actually step WHERE JESUS STEPPED!!! That is such a humbling thought for me. Safe travels to you both....in Jesus name!!!
Welcome to the Holy Land! I love Israel! I have been living here for 3 years and if i could just stay here forever with my family I would. This is still the safest place on earth even with what is on the news. Anyway, the bus driver is yelling to a passenger that's a normal everyday scene. Haha! Yep, Israel is cleaner than my country, Philippines. 😁
As someone who is half Israeli and goes there every year to visit my family, I suggest you stay with a host that rents out their apartment instead of staying in a hotel. It’s a lot cheaper and there are a lot open for people to rent, I would know.
I just wanted to explain as an Israeli and as a former Idf soldier about the gun safety. Every gun carried by a soldier is 100% not dangerous because it has a safety plastic thingy preventing it from accidentally firing. It is not possible for a bullet to escape because that piece of plastic is completely preventing it. Every idf soldier is very well educated on gun safety, and they take it very seriously, so please don’t be alarmed and come visit. i wanted to clarify that because i love tourists especially from America and I don’t want anyone to be scared to come here. :)
About the guns, it's soldiers on leave. Without uniforms, but carrying big guns. It's part of a stringent law to never leave your weapon unattended because it might be stolen or misused. and also there is a special part in the gun thats called MAC POREK which is another security aid so no accidents will happen.
Eden Ackerman it once got stuck in my belt and it fell of and charged the gun
Well you’re not supposed to go outside of the base with a magazine inside
True, as an instructor and an ex senior officer In the IDF I confirm your statement
There is no magazine in the rifle only on guard duty- and only in dangerous areas
We take gun safety very seriously - no room for error -the gun MUST be on SAFE.
you can get a court marshal for this offence if you don't check your weapon and even insert the magazine when it is not necessary - Maybe she should have put the gun in a different position I don't know I was not there but what I do know is that It's not better just to leave it aside unattended or something and having an Islamic terrorist grab it and empty the magazine onto the crowd. If anything they should feel safer here - Egypt is wayyyyy more dangerous to westerners!

Israel actually has very very strict gun laws. Every soldier is taught intense gun safety rules.
USA frankly has a low crime rate due to our high gun ownership rate and 51% of the crime rate is in only 2% of U.S Counties.
The difference though between Israel and the USA is illegal/black market weapons are much harder to come by in Israel, unlike the USA.

Was that the Abraham Hostel in Tel Aviv???? I love that hostel! I stayed there a lot during my gap year!
you don't see the light rail works because the light rail is underground.
they're building three lines of underground light rail and soon will begin working on 3 metro lines.
I hope you had a wonderful time in Israel
Hello from Canada. Congratulations for your initiative in seeing the world as young people.
Thank you Eric!! :) -Ash
True, Israel has very high security because of the situation we are in ... and it is a good thing that it is better to protect the citizens. There are places in Israel that you can eat cheaply and also in Tel Aviv just learn it over time. Hope you enjoy our amazing Israel. Welcome!!🌹
Israel looks amazing, thx for sharing!
Israel is fine its actually not that good like maybe if you're just travel there it could be nice but when you live there ummmmm........ not so much

You see it for me in the meantime please.
When I was in Israel back in '86, I found some Israeli music (on cassette tapes--really!), and I now love Israeli music.
Jim Green as an Israeli person I can’t relate, I hate Israeli music. But I suppose in 86 the music was better. I really love the 70s in the israeli music
What music?
there is no "israely music", there are so many types of music here...
dont judj by a couple of bad songs

My friends, Jesus never was in Tel Aviv xD
Welcome to Israel, from an Israeli who is very glad to see foreigners coming here.

"Because we do the sex!" - "no! We just cuddle!" 😂😂😂😂Hahaha I had to love really hard!
And we all believe that they just cuddle :P :P
I seriously burst out laughing! I don’t know how many times I’ve been to a hostel and yep there’s a couple doing the bing bing in your room! 😳😳😳😂😂😂
Just moved from the states to Israel and it's amazing, I absolutely love it!
It took 15 mins because you had American passport indeed :)
cause they travel to many countries could cause issues
You are right. Best to have more than one passport when travelling to Israel if non-favoured countries stamp your passport. The reverse is the case as well.
I would be staggered if Israel border control caused problems for US passport holders as they are their closest ally. Especially recently.
@@TT-zd6nr well everyone can have american passport mate. Its not about politics its about security.
it takes 15 min to anyone...

Shabat is Saturday and shalom to you too
Hi, just wanted to say that I’m from Israel and that when soldiers walk around with guns, the guns aren’t loaded so there’s nothing to worry about

כן זה משהו שהם לא שמו לב אליו איפה שהם היו.....

from my experience , the soldiers are not allowed to leave the base with loaded guns , they have an emergency magazine but they are not allowed to put it in the gun
in addition they usually check their own gun before leaving their house
i also learned they are not allowed to leave the gun at home when on vacation
As someone who lives in Israel Tel Aviv is super expensive, if you go to a small cities like Givataim or cities like that the food is a bit cheaper and it’s more fun, have fun in the holy land!!!
Most people who have guns on the streets are needed to have them because they are in the army and they have to take their gun everywhere, in the street, at home, in the military base, basically everywhere, so when you saw people in a bar/restaurant with an m16/ a gun or anything else then its fine, it just means they are in the army :)
p.s. Shalom = Hello, Shabat Shalom = is to to bless the shabat (last day of the week) so the other person will have a good shabat

It's the first line out of four (two more will start construction in a few months) with another 3 metro lines planned
I support the Israeli state 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
Wow I love to Israel ,I love israel technology ,agreeculture and defence system against terrorist ,beautiful people's there nice vlog friends
The main reason they don't stamp your passport in Israel is because other countries will reject entry for you if you have an Israel stamp in your passport especially Jordan. I can't wait see the rest of upcoming videos hope you have a nice time in Israel thanks for visiting and showing us Salam brothers and sister
Is it really Jordan? I thought they have a relatively good relation. Don't you mean Saudi Arabia and Iran?
Jordan accept Israel passports as is Egypt.
Jordan??
that's a false. I'm Israeli and I've been to Jordan 3 times in recent years with my Israeli passport, no problems
This shows you have nothing to worry about
You guys are amazing!! Love you!! Loved my time in Israel!!

I love my country, I love ISRAEL ❤
