I really appreciated your review. My camera seems too heavy for the ballhead I currently have on my travel tripod, and I did a list of possible new ballheads; this one is definitely out. I travel most of the time with a Sony A7II with a battery grip attached, and a 24-105 f4 OSS lens, plus a radio slave transmitter on top. Going by your review, it sounds like it's not going to hold, but as you said, it's not bad for a small APS-C camera. Thanks for the review, you just saved me some cash!
I would say that is a safe bet...remembering that it is not just the weight of the gear you need to worry about, but also the leverage of the distance. Even if the ball joint was strong enough, this particular head has the bearing in the mount that might be a bit suspect for failure. It has me thinking though... i should do a more objective measured test on what it would take to make this head fail... but, they cost 30 bucks...hmmm.
Really helpful. Thank you!
