Hi Jamie, thanks for your videos, they have helped me to create my designs. Now I have a little question about this one. What if I want to make the network curve instead of plane all around the body, but not in the bellycut. I'll use a round over edging router bit all around the body.
I'm getting a lot out of your videos. I build both solid and hollow body. I'd love to see something about 2-sided surfaces, like the the front and back of an arched top. I tend to end up with surfaces that are so complex that things start breaking -- cuts, joins, offsets stop working, etc. Thanks for the great tutorials.
I've not done an archtop, but i have done carved tops. Might be a good video, would you be able to shoot over a model to my facebook page so i know what you mean with archedtops? facebook.com/THE.D1C
Hey Helix, awesome vids learned a shit ton! I've been trying replicate a superrstrat (suhr) body, and if got the both the belly and the pickarm cutaway done. I did it by making 4 different network surfaces and sweep1'ing the rest of the body, and then joining them. What i cant do though is cut out the neck joint. ive been trying to boolean difference the neck joint out of the guitar body but simply wont work. I suspect i'll run into the same problem when i try to cut out the routing. Do you have any idea how i successfully cut out the neck and routing? cheers
@@helixguitars3097 oh wow thanks. This is going to be a difficult learning curve for me. Do you think the linked in leaning ser vice is a good way to learn? And there's some other guy using other stuff too. I forget if they were plug-ins or software that is used for other parts of the guitar.

figgerd it out. Did a extrude planer curve instead of a sweep1 and not the boolean difference works (:
Hey buddy, I have my 2D shapes in pdf or illustrator. I assume I can import that?
Do you have videos that show right from the start?
Simply click import and then select the PDF :) if it errors then the PDF has been exported incorrectly
