I was changed to this seat on a flight to Heathrow but to be honest being 6’6” tall I found the seat to be very comfortable and slept far better than I did in the Q-suite. The service and food was still up to the same quality so much so at Christmas I’ve chosen this aircraft over Q suite
did u have an empty seat beside u though? If so then it's a fairly decent flight. And indeed as a tall person myself, i feel that it has more room to more my legs around.
One of my flights in June got downgraded from Qsuite to some kind of 1-2-1 seat on B777-300ER. Idk what that seat is either, maybe a reverse harringbone. It's a shame that I intentionally booked that flight for 3,000 GBP, cold hard cash, so that I could have Qsuite on both of my flight. They also reduce the time of transit to 1.15 hr and now I might not have enough time to visit the lounge. I tried to change to different flight, but the price difference increased to 500 GBP. What a shame.🙄
I know right? Qatar is almost an perfect airlines if they didn’t swap out people’s Q-Suite all the time. Among the major popular airlines, Qatar and Turkish are the most notorious airlines. 1 hr is too little to enjoy the lounge. Also do u mean 1 hr til u boarding or 1 hr until departure? If the latter, that means u have like 30 min for the lounge only. Urgh it really sucks man.

Thank you for this trip report. As for the lounges, you do know that there is a CX lounge nearby? As QR and CX are oneworld carriers and you have a business class ticket, you could use the latter's lounge.
This video was filmed in 2022 summer. The cx lounge wasn’t reopened yet due to “you know what” lol. But now yes cx lounge will be a great open for Qatar passengers.
Last year I had one of my legs changed from Qsuite to this seat. I was disappointed at first, but the seat next to me was empty and as it was a daytime flight I really enjoyed it to be honest as the cabin feels very open and spacious and for sitting I found the seat more comfortable than Qsuite. But I would always prefer Qsuite, but for a daytime flight I wouldn't be disappointed :)
Kinda agree too. If nobody is beside me that’s always a plus. But I was still not a fan of the slanted angled bed mode. Felt like I was constantly slipping down lol. With more A350s coming, they will phase out this old business class soon hopefully. Thanks for watching!
The perfume sample in the amenity kit is not missing…it’s that little box you called “universal fragrance” - those eau de toilette perfume Diptyque perfumes ain’t just some cheapo brand and actually costs about £200/100ml lol so don’t throw them after the flight haha

not really, it can happen in any route, but what u can do is, if u r doing a connection in DOHA, which means u r flying QR twice, if u book both flights both in Qsuite, then ur chance of at least having one of them as Qsuite is high... Ur luck cant be that bad that both flights got swapped out i suppose haha

Nice video. I feel your frustration from a fellow passenger that’s been Qatar er.. I’ve taken this same flight from MNL to DOH. Our return was from CDG to DOH that was downgraded from q suite to A380.. for me that is the one advantage SIngapore Airlines have over Qatar. Thought it’s still a good flight.
We had the middle two seats but there was a party taking the window seats either side us and they kept cutting through our seats. That was the only gripe but it was very irritating.
I flew qsuites many times and haven't got swapped. I have been upgraded to a 787 from a a320 business class twice so I have been lucky with qatar. Even though qsuite is private, it has its drawbacks. The seat is hard and not very comfortable and the enclosed doors give the illusion of privacy but is a bit claustrophobic. Really how many people look at what you are doing during a flight in business class? I can see why I would dislike this boeing 777, but if no one is beside me i would glady give this a try. it looks so roomy and open and the seats are softer and comfortable. The soft service is the same, and that is probably the best reason to fly qatar.
think it really depends on whether you are flying with someone else or not, and whether the flight is during the day or red eye. The seat doesn't look very comfortable to sleep, it looks quite "angle flat" , but for 2x pax wanting to enjoy a lot of open space during a NOT red eye/sleep flight I think it do the trick.
Try to book the qsuites business class in a350 as of you did not get a qsuite you still get the seat like the a380 business class layout but my advice is try to make sure you are booking the qsuite

I have so many Amex points that i have a qatar account merged with british airways because of the programs through american express. 2 people at qatar airlines said that for a business class round trip from miami to bangkok is 190,000 points. So i believe i have to transfer to british airways then qatar. Is that the best way to do it? i want to go soon and it seems qatar has by far the best prices for business class
I booked MIA to BKK using my Amex points for Qatar Airways. It was 95,000 points. Both flights are supposed to be Q-suite. My return flight is 87,500 Air Canada points on EVA.
Last October my flight from FRA to DOH had been changed from QSuite to this type of seat. Due to my flexibility of traveling days. I made an inquiry to Qatar Airways to change to QSuite flight for the following three days. They did it and I was happy. The thing was I wasn’t informed the change in aircraft. I had to check it from time to time. 😂
U can attempt to make a booking on Qatar website as a paying passenger, but not paying. prior to paying, u get to select your selects, there u can see what kinda seats u r getting. If it's Q-Suite then u will see the seats alternate between facing front and back, also closer to the aisle and window. Good luck
As you select your flights, segments with QSuites are labelled right at the onset. You don't have to go all the way to select your seat (unless you want to play around with the seat map).
Why not try Oman Air from MNL to MCT (and on to LHR or six European destinations such as FRA/MUC/ZUR/MXP? It has 2-2-2 excellent Apex suites with dine-on-demand. Way better than the ME 'big three', and cheaper than (save for the footwells) excellent Singapore Airlines or other Asian carriers, much as my preference is to travel via Asia not the Middle East. Good review: completely agree it's outdated. I had thought these older configuration B773s were on every QR flight ex MNL (and some other Asian destinations).
Really hate it when they swapped aircraft..and worst is, they will tell you that there is no guarantee that the flight you were planning to change will remain as Qsuite 🤦🏻♂️ 🤬
I just got an email notifying my aircraft will be changed to this non-Qsuite one. The worst experience ever. Shame on Qatar. It's the very first time for me to try Qatar and paid on purpose for Qsuite. They will never be on my airlines' list for travel.
There's so much ungratefulness here lol, and people are always like this. The business lounge isn't as exclusive since many are there BUT it still is more comfortable, nicer than the usual waiting areas. The business seats on the old 777, isn't as nice as q-suite but its absolutely not economy either. Maybe you should take a flight with economy next for 7 hours, and wait in the general waiting areas, and not have priority boarding - you will be grateful very quickly!
Many ppl went out of their way to specifically fly QSuite. They pay for QSuite and having the expectation for it. Your rational applies to having wealth vs not having wealth. It has nothing to do with grateful for Business class or not. If I knew this wasn’t QSuite, I wouldn’t have flown this route and this date at all. I wouldn’t even have flown all the way to Manila to depart.
Oh boy have they covered their asses in a user agreement. Funny thing, that they tell you that ur able to reschedule/rebook a flight in such case for free but then it turns out that a new flight *has* to be of the exact same configuration for each leg of your trip (e.g. QSuite+QSuite on a MNL-DOH-ARN) and oops there's no such options anymore within a few days or even a week. And its either you ducked up with your schedule, or fly downgraded with 222BC+QSuite, or pay a fee(!) for a slightly less worse downgrade to 121BC+QSuite, everything is within their terms of condition you've approved on ur ticket's purchase ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ QSuite promotion is such a hook
It's embarrassing for Qatar that they are still flying to prime destinations using a business class that was already outdated 10 years ago. Hurry up with the Q Suites!

Qatar awarding world’s best business class is overrated and misleading. Their best product is only for Q-Suite and mini Q-Suite. The old 2-2-2, A380 and some of 789 are not something I would call best business class product. This airline is knows to swap aircraft at the very last minute. You can complain, but there is nothing the airline can do or willing to do for you.
