Okay so I finished watching this anime only to be able to edit with Dazai to this song pssshhhhh
Tbh I think it's so difficult nowadays to edit with like, animes I'm not used too or haven't watched that much. I really need to practice that and stop to edit with like, Black Butler and Black Butler only xD
Since it's been a while I made something with an anime completely new to me, I'm not that happy with how this turned out. The scenes are kinda off, and so is the sound effects. I got a lot of inspiration from both MoonShadow ( / @moonshadow367 ) as well as by Pingvi ( / smska1995 ) tho but yeah, this aint close to as good as their BSD videos, so please go check them out ♥

Yes Dazai dosen't really have the scariest power and that much fighting skills, but the fact he knows almost every move that'll happen even if it's something fucked up he still let's it happen and he is fully aware of that and his intelligence in knowing these, even his mental state is something that makes him the most terrifying character there in BSD.
But that's what makes him intriguing and also hot 😂💜

Character analysis time! :
A lot of people say dazai, fydor and ranpo are just as clever as each other, but I disagree.
Fydor is a bit cleverer than dazai at piecing together complicated schemes, however Fydor lacks a pivotal ability to beat dazai, and that is human empathy. He doesn't have it currently, and he's never had it. He sees emotions like an equation and because of this its fundamentally impossible for him to truly understand emotions. He's able to predict _reactions_ caused by emotions pretty well as he bases all his predictions on his knowledge of human psychology, however, manga readers would know that his lack of a proper comprehension around human emotions causes a crack in his schemes later on.
Ranpo is cleverer than both dazai and fydor in terms of IQ - infact, if we're talking about traditional intelligence, Ranpo is the smartest in the series. However, he is a)emotionally immature - he lacks any sort of emotional intelligence, enough so that he can discard gut feelings on an emotional basis, and b) his scheming abilities are nowhere near as competent as Dazai's or Fydor's. Ranpo also lacks in the comprehension of psychopaths. He can understand emotions in normal people well, but when it comes to people like fydor, dazai or other emotionally distant villains, he finds it difficult to comprehend their actions that are 100% based on logic with no morals or ethics attached.
In my opinion, Dazai is the "cleverest". He fully comprehends human emotion, he can understand and and place emotional value on morals and ethics, yet he can also just as easily and fully comprehend the logic of a cold blooded psychopath (because he sort of is one) and use the mindset of one. He is extremely emotionally intelligent, but also has a very high traditional intelligence (about as high as Fydor's). If I were to describe dazai as something though, it wouldn't be a psychopath, I would describe him as EXTREMELY apathetic. Enough so for it to be considered a severe mental disorder. He can feel emotions such as love and attachment, and has shown us he can with Odasaku and Atsushi, however it is so extremely difficult for him to form real attachments that he might as well be a "pyschopath". Dazai could give up on the ADA, he could even stab everyone except atsushi to death If he needed to (though it'd be hard for him as we see he's ever so slightly opened himself up to the ADA). Dazai could kill just about anybody and everybody he knows if he really had to. Dazai could genocide a city, he could easily kill children (and has). Betrayals? Yep. Torture? Yep. Abuse? Yep. Literally any crime possible? Yep. Dazai fully comprehends morals and ethics. He just doesn't give a shit. The only reason why he tries to follow morals and ethics is so that he can keep his promise with Odasaku (he cares about the promise because he cared about Odasaku) and also not make atsushi and maybe~? kunikida (and the rest of the ADA to a certain extent) sad. He also knows that although it's easy just to murder everybody and not have any attachments, extreme cruelty brings about karma. He understands human psychology and human emotions like the back of his hand, and with his amazing traditional intelligence he uses it to ultimately defeat his enemies. Fydor can't beat him, because fydor can't empathise with human emotions (like most psychopaths) and Ranpo can't beat him because ranpo is too emotionally immature and finds it difficult to understand psychopathic logic. Dazai is scary. Dazai, mentally, can hardly be considered "human". He understands _everything_ but cares about (almost) _nothing_ . When I think of how a _GOD_ may think mentally, I think of dazai. Dazai is attached to almost nothing, so he can abandon everything. Odasaku and atsushi are the only things that make dazai even slightly human, and Odasaku is dead, so atsushi is the only physical remnant of his humanity. It's ironic because his ability name (based on the book of the same name by the author of the same name) is「人間失格」- "no longer human" or personally I think a more closer translation would be "disqualified from being human". Dazai is indeed, not human, at least, not mentally, but a monster. His apathetic genius brings him much closer to what would be an omniscient being then a human. He understands all - as wise as could be, but cares not. Truly, I love him as a character, but he scares me.

But if he really didn't care about anything then why would he risk his life to save yokohama, the ADA and PM? He could have just escaped from that scenario and flee away to somewhere else using his intelligence.
@@iamaweeb6770 he only does these things to fulfill his promise to odasaku and out of pity for atsushi. In fact, I'd go as far as saying Dazai only likes atsushi because he reminds him of odasaku. Also, Dazai's life doesn't mean much to him, so risking his life isn't a big deal. The only problem is is that if he's dead he can't fufill his promise. Dazai has never redeemed himself, and sometimes his fake act of being kind can slip when he's chasing down his enemies. To Dazai, that promise is the most important thing in his life now, hence why he risks so much to be kind and save everybody.

Seriously tho, it's disturbing how easily you can come away thinking Dazai is a major antagonist if you don't know the story

Exactly, my sister said that she was gonna watch bungou stray dogs as it was in her recommended animes, so I showed her this as well and she was like "oh! Is he like one of the main villains?" It really is disturbing how easy it is to think that Dazai is the antagonist, think about how many dark moments Dazai had in the entire anime.
But, to be honest, Dazai could 100% be a major antagonist. If things hadn’t ended up the way they did (ex: he got there too late and never heard Oda’s last words) he would have become the boss of the Port Mafia, and he would be *unbeatable*

Another reason to add to my list of why dazai wouldn't have left the port mafia, because i spend my free time using cannon to find out what would happen if x character did whatever, and i like to over analyse it and figure out the possibilities for what would happen and whether it would happen in the first place
