Not sure if there's a chain of restaurants who make this style, but lately I have become addicted to the chopped beef & onion, bacon cheese! I start with a 9oz patty, and thin sliced ¼ onions. Lightly caramelize the onion. Good sear one side the meat. FLIP and then chop the meat and onions together to a fine mince. Fry some bacon, toast the bun, and melt the cheese on 2 piles of beef & onion. Put on BOTH buns then combine with bacon in between. SOOO GOOD!!!

HOWEVER, true story, I went for a Grill Chef job at my local Burger King some years ago. I did a trial in the kitchen. The patties came in frozen with the sear marks. I think the sear marks were stamped on for that BBQ look because every patty had the same sear marks. The patties were then cooked in a microwave !!!!! At the end of the day the manger said, what do you think then Mike ? I said Get Outta Here and walked away. Cheers Greg, Mike.
I think they're supposed to butter the buns before they toast them but they hardly ever do. Makes it better in my opinion. The pics of the burger show a buttered bun.

The Burger King "melts" are two ounce patties for a total of 1/4 lb. for the entire burger. I've had one of these, it was ok. The bacon was severely undercooked. Yours looks way better, especially since you did 4oz. patties!!

Your channel will be around longer than what's left of Burger King locations. Probably on of the chains that might not last much longer. And, I am guessing your versions are always better looking and tasting.
I think we would all get by just fine without BK. Easily the worst fast food available... at least it's the worst here in Canada. Don't know if it's slightly less shitty down there, but up here it's super ghetto. Pure garbage.

Sounds good. Add some Goya to it and you’d have a good bodega style chopped cheese.

Burger King uses two 2 oz. patties for the Melts. The same as the Whopper Jr. Your burger is much bigger. The mushroom Swiss one is fantastic!
