    Nice video!
But you actually missed the two most intriguing buildings in Trier. You even walked past one of them at 13:40. 😉 That's not some old church, it's the Basilica of Constantine, part of the Roman imperial residence. It's the largest unsupported hall that survived from antiquity, the 17 centuries old basilica built for the emperors to hold court when they were in Trier. It's been in constant use, among others, as residence of bishops, and as a church since the 19th century. Of course, in its heyday, it was all covered in marble, inside and outside. It even survived burning out during the war. And when you see the large windows in a hall of that height, and without any outer structures to support the walls, you wonder why the gothic churches needed all the buttresses when the Romans could build something like that and even had floor and wall heating. The ceiling is 33 m high (100 ft) and 67 m (200 ft) long.
The other building is the Roman bridge that has been in use for 1950 years and is still a regular road bridge which is incredible if you think about the kind of traffic it was built for and how often the river carries really high floods. Even modern ships still fit under it.
Make sure to come back. 😉
    Have a nice time!

By the way, in Germany, everybody has the right to enter forests and agricultural ground, whether publicly or privately owned. As long as you don't do stupid things like damaging anything, lighting fires, or leaving garbage behind you.

Thanks so much for the information! We definitely plan on coming back in the future. This is one of our top recommendations in that area. It’s an incredible city!

That’s good to know! We had heard this but weren’t certain if it was true. Thanks 🙏

There are (a few) wolves in Germany but no bears! Extinct since 1835. So no worries! There are wild boar but not every where and foxes are common.

Just discovered your channel; liked and subscribed. I enjoyed your talk about speed limits in Germany. We have been here for 9 months and I still haven't quite figured it out.🤣

Thanks so much! The speed limits aren’t as straightforward as we read online unfortunately 😂 enjoy your time there!

Other than the Roman remains, there is another reason for which quite a lot of tourists come to Trier, especially from China, namely the fact it is the birthplace of Karl Marx.

Interesting fact! We didn’t know that!
