hi there! SV ride op here (i have a cameo somewhere in the 13 minute mark (; ) - the whole point of the metal detectors is you have to walk through them with your stuff. technically we're supposed to tell you to hold your items above your head - the metal detector shows us where all the metal is when it flashes red, so in theory, all the metal should be above your head to show us you have nothing else (i.e bag, fannypack, etc). that isn't something that was really enforced as much - ESPECIALLY august, so i can see where the confusion is. the table beside us is just a stool so we have somewhere to put the stamps && where extra stamps are stored lol nonetheless, this was a good video! i understand the feeling of being able to talk about this ride for 30+ minutes lmao

Mesh zipped pockets were added to each seat to prevent phones and other objects from falling out of pockets due to injuries when the ride initially opened.
The person I rode with kept his phone in his pocket and his galaxy was bent when he got off

very blessed that I got to work on this ride opening year despite all the issues the ride had, as a ride op it's one of those rides you just fall in love with the moment you do your first low zone walk. An experience I will never forget, and being the first non-RMC/non-salaried CP employee to ride the day before media day was truly special

Your reviews are so in depth. Always great to listen to 👌 I don't think it's any secret that this is my favorite coaster. So glad you enjoyed it and it lives up to the hype for you, especially after your overall experience you had at the park! Also, my little nickname for the finale is the airtime assault! 😄
Finally made it back to Cedar Point after 12 years and I agree with everything you said. This ride was amazing and the smoothest coaster I've ever experienced.
I'm too fat to ride any RMC. I had to walk of shame off of Storm Chaser to figure that out.

I miss the coaster restraints from the late 1980’s / early 1990’s. Airtime back in those days was unparalleled. You’d literally fly out of your seat at least 8 inches. Literally.

Nice review. I am a 65 year old fenatic and I am considering a return trip to Cedar Point just to ride this Bad Boy ! This look fabulous. I have ridden the Beast at Kings Island possibly almost 1K times in my life and I love that coaster, but this looks to top that.

I actually almost passed out in line for a ride because I overheated and hadn’t eaten in 3 hours (it was a small bowl of cereal) so yeah they should have shade in more queues there.

I know I am quite late to this (so late in fact, that the baggie system was replaced by free 5x10 lockers) But the stamp on the riders' hand warned the checkers that the individual has small belongings, and must be asked to put it in the bag
27:10 this wave turn into the inversion to me is the craziest moment of the ride. The second half of this is crazier than the first half.
I can say that the airtime record is totally accurate. The times I've Ridden the coaster i spend 90% in the air
I’m taking my friend to cedar point in a week or so, and he has only ridden one wooden rollercoaster(ravine flyer 2). He’s never experienced inversions . What should I take him on first to get him used to the more experienced coatsers
When I went earlier this summer I was able to ride it 6 times and got to choose my row each time I just had to ask

Steel Vengeance is a coaster with an awesome looking drop that isn't awesome. The rest of the ride is great, though.

Hello there, rly enjoyed the video! I'm from the UK and I'm saving up to go to Cedar Point next year, do you have any advice? I know it's a while away, but you know it's quarantine, got to look forward to something.
Cedar Point is my home park and my advice to you is do not go during Halloweekend unless you have Fast Lane Plus or do not mind waiting in extremely long lines for almost every rollercoaster.
Book the package through cedarpoint.com with a room at the adjacent Hotel Breakers, Fast Lane Plus, meals, drinks, and onride pics. You'll have all the above included plus early access and the unparalleled proximity to the whole reason you're there in the 1st place. Avoid weekends.
It's worth it! Steel Vengeance alone is worth it.

I know I'm late to the party. This is my favorite coaster. I'm pretty sure the metal detectors have a stack of lights on the backside that go off to show where they "see" metal. so when they illuminate above your head, they know its the stuff in your hand.
They didn't have the pouches there this weekend. Lockers were free and everything was to be put in them
The first time I got off of that ride I was like “WHAT JUST HAPPENED”
The first time I rode this me and my friends were lucky enough to get row 1 and 2

Regarding the metal detectors, they're actually positional. Different vertical levels will light up depending on where the metal actually is on your body. The reason they have you hold your phone over your head is because it is faster than having you put all of your stuff down, but it still clears your chest area, pockets, and lower legs. If you set off the detector on these levels, they will stop you.
That makes sense! Only problem was they didn’t have us hold our stuff over our heads and let us through with our hands near our waists.

Spider Vengeance
I definitely am one of the outliers with my opinion of SteVe. It’s fine. I think of the top 5 at CP (MilF, Mavy, Maggie, and TTD) I’d probs put it at 5. I’m definitely a fan of quality over quantity so the lack of decent positives, outstanding air or great lats makes me feel kinda meh about it
Honestly I prefer Lightning Rod, but that’s just me
I’ve ridden L-Rod. I think it’s a bit overrated, but it’s still awesome. I just can’t see how that’s better than this though.

This was the most intense ride in the park to me (way more than Maverick which was kinda underwhelming). I feel like it's a double diamond on your rating
What time did you ride Maverick? Cause I thought Maverick was underwhelming as well when I rode it in the morning but after I rode it when it was warmed up I thought it definitely lived up to expectations
@@GMFan I've been multiple times and have ridden in every row, warm and cool temps, day and evening. It does not compare to the intensity of SV for me in any row at any point. SV flings you around just as much and for longer

I rode this 4 times in Sept19, it was a little underwhelming and forgettable to be honest. It's a great ride don't get me wrong, maybe I was expecting too much
