The absolute best track of the 2ndLaw Era not named Supremacy and Panic Station. Chris is pure brillance, this guy is one of the greatest bassists of all time. Mad props to takeabow for such QUALITY. Liquid State has never looked and sounded so great LIVE on a video.
God damn it, this song is so charged with power, even when I play it in my guitar it feels really nice. When matt went next to domm and camera got them both is probably the best scene of muse.
2 reasons why chris should compose and sing more of his songs 1- he is amazing and with more practice he could be amazing and set muse apart even more. 2- so that we can see matt make love to his guitar like that more often XD i mean the guy was lost in his own world XD
I kinda ignored this song when i first heard the album, but now its one of my favourites.... the lesson here is that i should listen to every song muse comes out with more care.
this song is so personnal and important to Chris. It's about the same "Liquid State" and living hell he was going throught three years ago. After writting both tracks, he still came to Matt and was "ok I've wrote songs like you've asked me, you can record your vocal part now on them". And Bellamy told him "no way man, you need to sing those two !" As for him not sounding as good here, what do you expect ? He is a frickin bassist with no singing experience and lessons. He does extremely GOOD
Chris needs to sing and compose more songs... Im not terribly crazy about the two he did in this album, but I definetely see a lot of potential, besides this would make muse set itself apart from other bands I think, I mean the guy is a genius, he can play bass, guitar, keyboard, harmonica, and the most difficult part, he can keep up with matt´s vocal range. Ten years from now? LEGENDS, mark my words.
Hollyshit dude this is awesome! Chris does have talent and I think that was very nice of Matt to actually let him sing his own songs. Not many leadsingers let their band members do that
This is a beautiful and very touching song , especially you get the chance to listen to the instrumental of it. While I do agree that the track could have been "even more" if longer and with a proper build up leading to an explosion at the ending of the track like DarkShines, for instance, it's still amazingly great. Especially knowing it's Chris who wrote the full melody and lyrics and Matt encouraged him to sing it himself. It's feel very unique for a Muse song because of that. Cheers
why i love them? because watching them and listening them live is much better than the studio recorded sound and yeah i am saying that 'cause many bands sound much different in lives but not muse , not my gods! that's the only proof that muse are authentic and really gifted i should say! my opinion. :)
For people who don't get it Matt Bellamy ASKED Chris W. To sing both Save Me and this on recording and on stage. Mainly for two reasons : - He wanted Chris to have a bigger and more important role in the band - It allows Mattey to make love with his guitar AND allow his voice to take a rest. Chris went throught a personnal hell during "The Resistance" era , he was addicted to alcohol and let Matt and Dom doing ANYTHING on that album (writting process, interviews ect). Which explains why
Nice of Matt ? This song WAS Created by Chris from start to finish, music, lyrics and vocals. Bellamy insisted to him to sing it during the recording process while Chris has always been extremely HUMBLE and shy. The only who deserves credits here is Mr Chris Tony Wolstenholme for being such a BAS ASS and vastly OVERLOOKED Musician and the cement of Muse's sound. It takes a great bassist (and now bad ass vocalist reminiscent of Dave F'N Grohl) to make a great band. Chris Level Of Win = EPIC
i love how they just kinda let Chris out on his own there...like letting a kid off to his first day of school haha :P glad to see this is now a live song :D
I was just listening to the album after only just getting round to buy it. I was thinking who the bloody hell is this singing............. Nice to see Chris have a go at the front. I had to look on here through as I thought it was the lead singer from Pendulum.
I actually agree with you, I think it's missing a piano break down with a similar feel to the tango like Grand Omega Boss edit version of assassin, then back to the heavy part....It's basically that this song is so much shorter then alot of Muse songs
OGM whar is Matt doing after the 1st chorus?! I love him!! Oh, stop saying the vocals are bad! Singing in front of so many peoples while playing this bass line should be so difficult! Cwris is a beast!!
Yes that´s what I was thinking : IT´S TOO SHORT :O Kinda makes me think of Dead Star. That was also too great and too short. You can see Chris hasn´t got as much live singing experience as Matt though (even though his voice is great), it´s like not all his power manages to come out through the mike.
he can sing almost better than matt, he keeps it simple whereas matt shows off with his fancy vocal range, Chris just pours his heart into it and the song is far more intense than any muse song I have heard before since it is written about real life experiences rather than science fiction which matt has been known to write about, great stuff
You make it sound like Matt somehow owns Muse, and Chris and Dom are simply people he employed to play his music with him. Remember, they're a band. The THREE of them make Muse.
Just because Chris stays still at the back does not mean when Matt is at the back he HAS to stand still, Chris has a totally different style, he is not showing off, he is doing what he always does, just as Chris is doing what he always does.
Also another main reason was that it was entirely his song and so personal to him, so Matt didn't feel right singing it, the thought that Chris should sing it because it was his emotion and struggle not Matt's, :)
Chris's songs have a distinctly different feel to other Muse tracks. Not just the vocals, either. The instrumentation could be ramped up here, and I think, like someone before me said, maybe a piano breakdown would be great, or at least something to break up the verse/chorus riffs.
I really hope Chris does more vocals like this, he really has a nice voice!
Such a good song! Underrated just because of the album it's on.
Chris has to compose more songs like this *O*... just beautiful. And it does sound like an honest song... Go Chris!!
both his songs were written about when he an alcoholic
Yeah I know, but uhmm, He should write more songs, he sounds great. Don't you think?
Oh yeah definitely, I was just saying the reason they "seemed" honest is because they are :)
FROM GOOGLE cool cool band
gabriel romero theres acctually 1 more song that he sings but i cant remember which song it is
i like how he gets centre stage and the spot light and matt doesnt steal any of it from him he just stays back with dom
It's cool watching Matt just have a good ole time in the "background." ;)
Agreed
you have no idea how happy this makes me
Lets also not forget that it is notoriously tricky to sing and play bass at the same time. Chris is awesome.
Hear this Song all the Time. One of the best!
This has got to be one of the best songs from the album!
Love this song, So happy seeing Chris shine, while Matt makes out with his guitar...
I love this song,Chris has a magnificent voice, I hope that the next album are other songs sung by him...
I kinda ignored this song when i first heard the album, but now its one of my favourites.... the lesson here is that i should listen to every song muse comes out with more care.
this song is so personnal and important to Chris.

He does extremely GOOD
I love the power of this song, pure rock! Good for Chris! he deserves is a wonderful musician and shines by itself.
best track out of that whole fucking album god damn it's so good
I love Chris's voice so much, gives my the craziest shivers
I wish Matt would have joined in during the Chorus!
+Shawn Simon "forced to loose control or whatever the lyrics is, i thought matt sings that, it sounds so much like him
The most EPIC Video of the most EPIC Song of the NEW ALBUM.
That's the MUSE I enjoy, the HEAVY-ROCKIEST ONE !
My best surprise in concert (Porto), this music live is fantastic. they are fantastic...
i'm so happy to see that they're doing this one live. hopefully they'll play it at the vegas show in march!
CHRIS !! this was amazing! he should deffenetly write more songs for MUSE !! Pure talent
Chris needs to sing and compose more songs... LOVE!!! HE IS MY FAV IN THE BAND!!
Hollyshit dude this is awesome! Chris does have talent and I think that was very nice of Matt to actually let him sing his own songs. Not many leadsingers let their band members do that
The hidden vocal talent of Chris EXPLODES!
What an awesome song! Love Chris's voice!
They decided to let Chris have a go? Fantastic, made a nice change, great song!
MrLW25 Well Chris sung the original one :)
I was so excited to see him perform this song
This doesn't remind me of Muse but i love it :D Chris is just SO ON POINT
Aaah they need more songs with Chris on vocals! What a great voice!!!
This is a beautiful and very touching song , especially you get the chance to listen to the instrumental of it.

It's feel very unique for a Muse song because of that.
Cheers
All three of them have great talent
He's the best bassist in the world, and I love his voice!
why i love them? because watching them and listening them live is much better than the studio recorded sound and yeah i am saying that 'cause many bands sound much different in lives but not muse , not my gods! that's the only proof that muse are authentic and really gifted i should say! my opinion. :)
OMG I think I may be pregnant! Thank you so much, the editing only made it more perfect!
the best song got the album. only one worthy of muse. and great job by chris!
I can't explain why but I f*cking love this song. Thank you for the good job :)
Wow he is great. He can sing that well while playing that bass part
These fellas are too classy and grown up for the average rock fan! KUDOS!!!!!
one of the best songs of T2L , i can imagine a Beautiful mosh on this song :D
my favorite song by Chris:D this guy is AWESOME!!!!!
you can see how Matt enjoys just playing the guitar and walking around :)
So proud of you Chris! You're doing great :)
OMG, this is amazing. Can't wait for the concert in my country! :)
Happy birtday CHRIS! king of Bassists.
I'm so proud of Chris!!!
Love this! Good effort Chris
What a fucking great song! I admire Chris, is a wonderful bassist. MUSE 3
I hope they play this when I see them live for the first time.
Wish they would still play this track
THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING
Oh My Wolstenholme! Love me some Chris on lead--and this is so badass live!
For people who don't get it Matt Bellamy ASKED Chris W. To sing both Save Me and this on recording and on stage.

Amazing!
my favourite song
Great video and great song :D you're the best making the new live Muse's stuff!! Hope watch Falling Down later, thanks, good job! :)
Chris is so bad ass wow he just rocks
Nice of Matt ? This song WAS Created by Chris from start to finish, music, lyrics and vocals.

Chris! You're my Idol!
i love how they just kinda let Chris out on his own there...like letting a kid off to his first day of school haha :P glad to see this is now a live song :D
oh yeah! thats what i call music!
What a diplomatic answer!
I was just listening to the album after only just getting round to buy it. I was thinking who the bloody hell is this singing............. Nice to see Chris have a go at the front. I had to look on here through as I thought it was the lead singer from Pendulum.
one of the best songs from the 2nd law in my book
You should watch Endlessly live at Wembley 2003. Definitely one of Matt's most emotional interpretations.
So awesome!!!! :D
Coolest performance by muse
I love his voice , cause its honest
Not everyone can sing and play bass this way at the same time, without any mistakes. Chris has a fuckin partitioned brain.
It was a reference to the popular television show "30 Rock". Look it up...
Yay Chris!!
Chris has a great voice!
Yeah, Chris! Rock on :D!
Man this song is sounding killer when performed live! Poor Chris, can't headbang that much during singing.
Amo esta canción!!!!
what do you mean? i always knew Chris had talent. he is my favorite bassist
there is an "extended" version of this track elsewhere on you tube.
Awesome, heaps of bands have 2 lead singers.. Don't know what the problem is with everyone. Old Muse New Muse I like them all
I can guarantee that it's almost one of their best albums. In essence, it's a bit underrated (in my opinion).
When listening to this song for the first time, did anyone else think "WTF? Rob Swire (Pendulum) collab?"? Beautiful song, btw.
he can sing almost better than matt, he keeps it simple whereas matt shows off with his fancy vocal range, Chris just pours his heart into it and the song is far more intense than any muse song I have heard before since it is written about real life experiences rather than science fiction which matt has been known to write about, great stuff

Awesome! Chris is awesome! lml

Muse does Foo fighters!
his voice reminds me dave grohl, i love both :)
Chris's songs have a distinctly different feel to other Muse tracks. Not just the vocals, either. The instrumentation could be ramped up here, and I think, like someone before me said, maybe a piano breakdown would be great, or at least something to break up the verse/chorus riffs.
I agree, I actually love Save me
The way Matt is going mental makes me think he wishes Chris wrote songs earlier!
@Melloorr of course it is!!
♥️🌟🔥😍
woo Chris!
Super
