I think the reason why these sets are conservative with their mini figs are because of the custom molded heads and not wanting to repeat species so soon.
I think once they roll out at least one mold for each type of animal they’re going to make a CMF series for Animal Crossing to populate this theme.

One odd thing to note about this theme is that Rosie's house here is a near 1 to 1 replica of how it looks in new horizons while Fauna's house from the Isabelle set looks nothing like any of the multiple houses Fauna has lived in over the course of the series

That gap really highlight the issue with this theme of using the existing round plates over creating a new set of them with a fully square design.

Review of your review: Your natural ability to assess sets both from the adult and child’s view is always impressive.
This review (seemingly effortlessly) simultaneously speaks to adult interest in attention to detail, design choice, pros/cons, and value with playability for the most natural audience: kids.
All done with a critical eye that praises all that’s praiseworthy, criticizes shortcomings. There’s a real sense of advocacy for parents, an understanding of designers’
On top of that, you look at it from current standards and through the lens of nostalgia that ties this “IP” set to Lego’s long history of sets with this vibe.
That much of all my blather is more result of instinct, experience, knowledge, and your foundation as a sensitive and thoughtful person is a credit to your craft and who you are.
Now, get to that L scale project at the pace that brings you joy and satisfaction.
Me, I don’t play with toys - but hope to re-engineer my own current project involving a sophisticated brick-based interlocking system. 👀

rosies house should have been a standalone $25 dollar set with 1 figure and tom nooks store should have been its own set for $35 with 2 figures. as it stands this set seems like a horrible value to me. that being said, i love the charm and simplicity this line has brought back into lego and would love to see it done more (and more affordably)

It's 75€ in Germany and LEGO exclusive (= no discounts, ever). 55 would be @ ideal PPP, 45 - 50 would be what I were willing to pay.

The beauty of their approach to how much of the structures are covered is that when you look at them from the perspective you see in the game, they look enclosed/appropriate. Sometimes LEGO sets from other themes don’t even give you that much coverage.
    Really smart choices here!

You only see buildings ingame from the front and sides, not the back.
So i think it's perfectly acceptable for those sets to be open

Seems like the running trend in this line, as many observed when they were announced, is pretty much all the sets feel like they should have more minifigures... maybe those special heads cost a LOT to produce?

They really should have split it up into Nook's Cranny and Rosie's House. Not everyone likes Rosie, but everyone needs a Nook´s Cranny. Same thing with Isabelles Visit.
I hope we get a further set with the Nooklings and a set with the Able Sisters.

It looks so much Phantasia-land theme from the 80's (if i remember the name correct), it strikes my nostalgia aswell. That head is so perfect from what i remember, aswell as the vibe and colour sceme.
It might happen that i free up money to collect the whole theme, just for nostalgia's sake.
Getting a 100% prints and that they combined the heads with regular minifig legs and torso's plus really usefull colours, are bonuses on top of the nostalgia factor.
Ow wow, that roof could have been actually better.
This feels like some well excused savings going on.

Love the set, but it's way overpriced. Not as bad as the 4+ Junior Star Wars sets, but close.
Love the swappable modular windows! That's a great, quintessentially Lego concept we need more of. Especially an expensive set like this should always come with swappable elements. I'd go so far as to suggest swappable alternate heads for the animals to have different expressions:-)

I don't know nothing about the game, and yet, I would like one of these sets once they get to Costa Rica n.n I will give one of them a chance n_n
It's a shame LEGO here is doubly expensive. I'm not kidding, prices of LEGO here in Costa Rica (and probably almost all of Latin America) is almost always double the ones said on this channel or in others... I feel lucky when there is even a 20% or 25% discount on some LEGO sets here. There are rare chances in which you can find some sets on 50% discount or a little more, but usually they aren't the sets I want XD XD

  • @AHYL88
    @AHYL88 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Definitely the worst value of the Animal Crossing sets here, not helped that it's more costly than two or even three sets put together in the same theme. Like Isabelle's Visit and Cap'n's Island Tour, which seem to offer more overall and four figures in total. Or one of those sets, plus the sets that have Julian and Bunnie.
I think what's missing is Tom's nephews, Timmy and Tommy, but Lego likely has a future set planned for them, so that fans will spend more to get them and Tom Nook together.
Nice enough set, just too costly compared to the other sets in this theme.

LEGO made a huge mistake with this set. The adult market and AC collectors are going to very much care about a Nook shop and fig, and many friend's have stated that they would have bought this is it didn't have the extra house and figure. This could have been half the size and sold far more. I think LEGO knows no one will just buy the random house, and this will force people into wanting more houses for a village. LEGO really need to make either bling bags, polybags, or some cheap way of acquiring additional animal villager pieces too as those hold the most significant collectability above any of the current buildings. It's clear more sets are coming, and I would go absolutely rabid for a Brewster's Roost cafe set, but I just know they're going to pair it with someone's house for $80 instead of $40 as cafe only, and will we get a K.K.Slider with the Roost? I'm not convinced.
Additionally the baseplate mechanic /feels/ modular, but really it's just bad. Buying multiple of these sets, and having so many of those rounded green plates, and any amount of tiling them together, like you showed, just leaves ugly gaps, and it's apparent that these are intended more as toys and dollhouse structures rather than anything else. The market for AC LEGO is clearly primarily children, however the purchasing power, age of IP, and relevance to a demographic - I'd place it within the millennial 20-35 year old sphere, and as such, I think that necessitates a more adult and display focused set in future.
