I'm one of the unfortunate ones that used a dummy battery on my D750. It got toasted. The funny thing is that the dummy battery was made by Nikon. I bought the 750 used. No warranty. So I'm pretty sure Nikon won't do anything. Fortunately, I have 2 more camera's. A 5300 and a 610. I'll never ever use a dummy battery again!!! Great video George. Clear skies!!!

Like I commented, it's great until it's not.

I've used OEM Canon grip, and Newar battery grips without issue. Also used generic dummy batteries for years without issue. Sugest the Kondor Blue Dummy. It inputs 12V, and has a buck converter to provide the 7.4V cameras require. High end company, but reasonable price !
Oh, I'll send those ASI533 images soon !

That would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

The past two nights have been crystal clear. Besides imaging multiple targets, I photographed the Geminids. Used my Canon brand grip, as you recommended. It was mid 30's F. Two 6 month old full batteries required 2 pairs be changes in 6 hours each night. Thought I'd give a real time example.
