I remember when they had ads for the Kizashi way back in 2010 in Motor Trend. It was a beautiful car, very stylish inside and out. Gorgeous compared to the many soulless four Dora that hog the lanes. That 4 cylinder was a nice engine too. Suzuki cars are greatly missed in the US.

I drove a rental Kizashi from Ohio to Ocean City, Maryland and back, and even though I had the next to base model, I can say the car is great to drive. Very good power through the mountains of West Virginia and sporty handling. A very slightly cramped interior is the only drawback I had.

It kind of sucks that Suzuki exited the American Car Market. A couple years ago they were getting things figured out, that wasn't the case though. I hope it isn't the same with Mitsubishi in the U.S. as they discontinued the Lancer Evolution. I'm starting to look at the Kizashi now as it's more efficient than the truck I'm going to drive.
+Samuel Skillern Suzuki is still in the U.S. market, just not car sales. Hopefully one day if Suzuki co-ventures with another car company like Fiat or Toyota, we may end up seeing Suzuki cars back in the U.S. even if it's under a different badge.
I always try and hunt for the white Genesis. Either in the reflection of the cars, or in the background some where. It's like playing where's Waldo with Kyle's car.
Now in 2018 you can buy a nice used model fully loaded AWD for about 5-6K under 80k miles. Such a good car and a good deal. Getting one for my teenager's first car.
Suzuki is extremely reliable my brothers 2001 grand vitara jus stopped workin a week ago but it had 627084 miles on it he took it on road trips never had to fix anything jus regular maintainance
Most versions of Kizashi do come with the Rockford Fosgate system in them, except for versions such as the SLS which come with the Navigation unit which is Kenwood. But even the versions with the Kenwood nav head unit still have the rest of the Fosgate system installed, just not the head unit. For 2013 however the new factory nav unit in Kizashi and other Suzuki's will be Garmin units.
Previously I used to own nissan altima 2008 and I had bought this vehicle 4 months before. Much more better than altima. Very fuel economic and very practical
I own a Kizzy and alot of people seem not to like cvt transmission. This is my first cvt and I have to say one thing I like about it is the low rpm it produces for freeway driving. I never drove a car the runs at 2000rpms at 70 mph or 2200rpms at 80 mph thats some good stuff, plus its such a simple system the way it works compared to geared transmission that are auto. What kind of rpms at 70mph do those six speeds run at that are in the same class?
great review as always. my next door neighbors drive suzukis and they get a lot of car for a great price, especially with the 7 year/100,000 mile warranty they come with. Big name brand cars will usually charge more for extra accessories and will start out with a higher MSRP. Its not necessarily worse to buy a big name brand car, but Suzuki provides one of the best values for the money.

They mainly concentrate on the Pacific Northwest and the North Eastern states though. Ever heard of a Geo Metro, or Chevy Sprint? or Chevy Tracker? Those were all Suzuki's as well that were rebadged. There are Suzuki cars all over the road in the U.S. still running strong, many of them with over 300,000 miles on them!
Actually Suzuki is still making cars and selling them all over the world. Suzuki is the 10 largest CAR manufacturer in the world. The discontinued car sales in the U.S. market although they are still in the U.S. but focusing on motorcycle, ATV, and Marine engine market now in the U.S.
@2000mercurysable the reason you don't see many on the road yet is because Suzuki has only have VERY LIMITED advertizing on this car. But Since Suzuki is about to come out with yet another version of Kizashi by summer (possibly a turbo version) you will probably start to see more of these around. People are only now starting to realise how good a car the Kizashi actually is. And yeah I agree, Kizashi is a sexy looking car!
It seems like I wake up day to day with the fear of Suzuki becoming only a motorcycle company. Their cars aren't very well know. Eversince this kizashi came out I have only seen 2 on the road. Just bought one, fully loaded manual 6, from the first owner with about 110k kilometers, the car is basicaly new, will take it in a few days, great car. Will still miss my saab 9-3 though 😄
This car is BEAUTIFUL!!! It's really sad it didn't sell better than it did. Suzuki was an SUV brand, they should've flourished in today's SUV-dominated market. It's a shame they left the U.S.
@banstaman That's kind of old news and not really the case anymore. Suzuki has been posting double digit sales increases every month for the past half year, and just since November of 2010 they have opened 15 new dealerships, with plans for 2011 and 2012 to be their most aggressive campaign to recruit new dealers. There is a new version of Kizashi coming out soon, they will announce it at the New York auto show and another new vehicle is being added to their line-up as well.
Nice review, I have a 2012 sls awd cvt in the dark gray color....in manual mode u can feel the shifts depending on how long u hold it in gear. Suzuki will probably discontinue the kizashi in 4-5 years max, they only sold 6100 in the US last year. It's perfect if u want all the options/steering/handling like Audi/Lexus . The front end/timing chain driven engine/awd sold me on it
Excellent car! Great looks and great quality, every possible piece of equipment you could want comes as standard, great awd system and amazing chassis. It really handles great, as it was developed at Nurburgring, yet, its comfortable. The only problem that this car has , at least in Europe, is its price. Its freaking expensive, costs more than almost all of its european rivals except Audi and BMW. And more importantly, it costs more than european Accord (Acura TSX) and Mazda 6.

It looks amazing, standard full option with the electric roof and everything. Its Japanese so it cant break basically, great reputation and a wonderful car. Just dont buy the CVT one, that gearbox is trash. Manual ftw. (Currently DSG in my audi, regret that alot)
Definitely more reliable than Audi. My friend had an A4 4cyl and less than a year started driving wonky and all the dummy lights were on. After several trips to the dealer they couldn't diagnose it and put her in a V6 A4 (at her $10,000 expense, of course.) 🤦🏿♀️
@ArborSkateEnthusiast Those were the GM based models, which I can agree. However the GM based models that are good are the XL-7/[Grand] Vitara. I've owned an XL-7 with zero problems thus far.

@kazzemg Yeah you are right, when compared dollar for dollar, the Kizashi offers more features than the Sonata, plus Kizashi outhandles the Sonata. Sales for the Kizashi are going up every single month. Suzuki never planned for the Kizashi to out-sell cars like Camry,Accord, etc. They initially planned for sales of about 5000 per month.
