I had all their vinyl records in the 80's...I met Tim Game during a Stereolab gig in Nantes (France) back in1996 and I just told him that "celestial city" from the NNEC86 compilation was the most beautiful song I had ever heard.
Apart from Malcolm having a Roger McGuinn haircut (they did cover a Byrds song) everything else is how I remember them, John's Rickenbacker bass and Gary using beaters for Red Sleeping Beauty. Thanks for uploading it.

I'm puzzled as well. The sound is unmistakably McCarthy but they look nothing like them. I saw them live in '88 and they definitely looked different then. But why would anyone fake a McCarthy vid? It makes no sense. Weird.
