When are yall gonna call these folks for what they are: black Creoles and Creoles of Color (white/black mixed race). Because there are white Creoles in Louisiana such as French Creoles (white Louisianians of French and Québécois descent from the earliest settlers of Louisiana), Spanish Creoles (isleños and malagueños), Acadian Creoles (what Cajuns were called before adopting the name Cajun in the mid 20th century), German Creoles (Germans been in Louisiana since 1721) etc. There’s still plenty of white Creoles running around the Greater New Orleans area and northern Acadiana that still identify as Creole.
Creole and Cajun are two different blood lineages! Creoles were in Louisiana even before the captivities of the French or Spanish. Cajuns arrived later, some are saying they arrived in theb1700's.
I think the youth have a thing that if they speak French ;they may not be perceived as American. They would be asked all the time ,"Where are you from ? "
