Many do not realize how difficult this aria is, and she did it live in front of audience. You can hear a pin drop because the audience is enthralled. She wore the loveliest gowns, but her voice out shown all that great unique fashion.
Aaaaah! Sublime! Greetings of the day to all my friends, featuring the incomparable and immortal Kathleen Battle, one if the greatest sopranos of All Time...!
Like all your luscious singing you made it a show-stopping concert showpiece with your lovely stamp upon it, Miss Battle. Thanks for the voice that always makes me think of fine pearls being pulled across piles of the softest velvet. !!!
Sheer bliss from The Voice of An Angel. Thank you, Kathleen. Hearing you sing live at Carnegie Hall, years ago, was just as much a thrill as it is now. Brava!

Softer version of this song. There is an earlier version of this song when she was just a bit younger...She blows it out of the park. To bad there are no more recordings she has done after the fall from the met.
Youth and age are deeply fascinated by this her song,This is wonderful vocal. From where are you watching this video ?
Ironic that relatively few Americans speak more than one language compared to Europeans. However, when it comes to opera singers trained in USA, Americans are capable to sing , if not necessarily speak, in multiple languages much better than their European counterparts. Madame Tebaldi never ventured beyond her Italian boundaries. Price, Fleming, Sills, Battle or Studer ,to name a few, sang in Italian, French or German all the time.
She has a great voice of course. It sounded to me like she was more connected to the beauty of her voice than to the emotional connection she has with what she's singing. And there were far, Far, FAR too many unnecessary and repetitive arm gestures, which I found artificial and distracting.
Great voice and a good technique, but sung completely without any real meaning, feeling or emotion. One colour. A technically brilliant but very boring performance. A real pity because her voice was so beautiful, perhaps part of the reason her Opera career was so short.

One of a kind. Magnificent voice and a stellar sense of style to boot.
Oh, Kathleen, this song has never brought tears to my eyes. It's that voice. God bless you.
Such a beautiful voice!!!!
Diva Kathleen Battle has an angelic voice.
She's extraordinary.
Pity I can press only one thumb up instead of a hundred. Great tone of voice, volume and interpretation.
Unforgettable voice,Kathleen, you are peace of my soul.

A diva in her own right with a voice from heaven...
Who can disagree with that ?
Her gowns were always fabulous and stylish, but more than that, she knew how to wear them! Ah! Our dear Pristine Kathleen!
Dan Saunders is a wonderful accompanist. This is the period in which her voice was at its best.
George Downtown - Yes, he was superb as well.
I bet he had to put up with a lot of insecure diva.
SHEER PERFECTION!!!!
One of the greatest lyrical sopranos of our time
@S R She's a coloratura soprano not a lyrical soprano.
Absolute goosebumps listening to her sing this. Incredible performance!
Sheer bliss from The Voice of An Angel. Thank you, Kathleen. Hearing you sing live at Carnegie Hall, years ago, was just as much a thrill as it is now. Brava!
And bravo for the pianist, too! :)
One of Miss Battle's signature roles, brava!
How can someone not like this, i mean some of the notes were shifted from original but she made it her own!
Nobody handle this song better in all its forms than Kathleen Battle!!!
Grist is also adorably cute, fits the part.
Non ci sono parole! Troppo brava!!! ❤️
Stunning voice.
She had great taste in dresses. Very fashionable.
Giorgio Armani

It sounds so tender in her voice!!!!
perfect
Voz y piano molto bello 😙😙
At 6:26min she makes a very unusual "purring trill" in her throat. Never heard that kind before!
I adore her
You and I.
no wonder she was once one of the best 10 Sopranos in the of the world
Much deserved.
❤️❤️❤️
Brawo!

Is this that more robust version from a younger Kathleen?

wau
Wow she has beautiful voice 😗
I also like this but,I like the penthouse ver better!
Look up Kathleen Battle - Rossini: Una voce poco fa so you know what I mean.
OK! Let's enjoy Sumi Jo's Una voce this time!
Go look her up then.

Fa senza accento!
Sig.
I mean... it's cute!

It's too slowly!
Very careful singing, no abandon. Thus isn't bel canto.
she need coloratura
@*Daniel_560 * she is a coloratura soprano. She does'nt need what she already is.
Too much grand gesturing. Rosina (and her music) was coy and sly.
