Thanks guys! Helped me completely rebuild a 2004 F6 that blew a crankshaft bearing. I did a complete overhaul in 2 to 3 weeks this past winter, most of which was waiting on parts to arrive. Got a donor crank from eBay, rebuilt water pump, exhaust valves, reed valves, whole new top end, crank seals, gas and oil lines, carb boots, air intake, carbs, and scrubbed the dang thing inside and out. Never did anything like that before. Was able to put 40 miles on in a couple days before the snow melted. Pretty good for a lady who doesn't think she's a mechanic! 😉 Super helpful video. Gave me the confidence to try a rebuild. Dream come true 👍
This video, combined with the service manual for my sled was super helpful and gave me the confidence to take on this job for the first time on a slightly different engine. Great work to both of you. thanks for doing this.
Absolutely Brilliant!!! Im a rookie for the last few years learning on old Yamaha's,this is the most calming,no BS,no memes,no music,no nonsense, helpful and educating best video on you tube! Thanks so much, keep wrenching and riding!
Very interesting video. Jason really knows his motors. Good guy to know if you have any issues with your sled. Can't wait to see how that motor runs when you guys hit the trails. If we ever get any snow ❄️. Ride Hard, Ride Fast and Stay Safe.
Just a tip for you guys. Whether you wanna hear it or not. After honing a cylinder, engine oil is actually your best cleaner once the honing is done. And ATF can be used in place of honing oil.
That was awsome very detailed, what to watch for, tricks to get it done and now im confident i could do it but wont.ill be sending it to jason,he can have that headache n nerve tightrope.!!!enjoy ur winter fellas!!i need a beer after all that, snooky pa.
Great video love the Hamms! CFJ is getting excited to fire that thing, I should rebuild my f7 it has 10,000 miles on it you guys have a good one I’ll b going passed you guys next weekend have to clear some snow in Mercer
@@SwankyCatProductions maybe a foot but it’s enough that the propane guy might frown a little, plus it’s a good excuse to head north for a couple days iron county has the best rideable snow right now, Minnesota has the most widespread snow hopefully that lake will kick in!
Good job boys! A tip if you don't have a torque wrench: tighten it till it strips, then back it off half a turn ;) just joking! Can't wait to find out if this fixes the bog.
I need to do mine , I just purchased it 2014 artic cat xf 8000 , fix cable drove around house all , than I forgot to recheck coolant than high temp wen on and force it to go home and stop running. No more coolant no more psi . If your looking for a job let me know, Ottawa
Hy guys..nice and clean job👌 i have a question on my artic cat snow pro 600 2011 it's a pre mixed not oil injection, how do I know if is oil to lubrication the crank bearibg and if is any reservoir for that..on the spec's show just a little oil holder 🤔 thanks in advance
When bolting the case back together, did you chase the threads to get the old locktite out? Also why did you drop the case bolts in dry? Putting my case back together tomorrow trying to do it right the first time.
Jason says "I did not... Prolly coulda shoulda chased them... There's no lock tite on those though. Did wire wheel the bolts though. Manual does not say to oil bolts... Pretty sure they would be dry torques then"
Where can I purchase or download that service manual on how to reassemble? Lastly, do you have a link to to a rebuild kit you bought for all the gaskets?

I also was gonna leave a comment but you summed it up perfectly! I was scared of disassembly/assembly but not now! Thank you
I rebuilt my 2011 arctic cat 800 with this video and it runs lol. Great Job.
Good job on the rebuild. Last time I opened mine up like that I bought a Wiseco balance kit for it. Its very happy now.

thanks for this video just in time for my crank to come out.. smoked a connecting rod bearing.. im in the market for a crank or rebuild now..
Ouch! Glad to hear the video helped! Did you get it going again?
@@SwankyCatProductions parts on the way! Should be riding again next week!
Awesome!
I'm about to tear down at 2012 M8 engine. Rod pulled right out the bottom of the piston, and even bent the rod.

Sounds like a good enough reason to me! Have fun!
I just rebuilt my crossfire and had those bearing spacers left over had no clue what they where for until now💀
Thanks alot this helps so much Cheers
Glad to hear that!

if it's premix the oil is mixed with the gas in the tank and flows through the bottom of the case/crank bearings during operation.
Have to replace bearings on my 95 ZRT 800. any videos on that?
What did you use for gasket maker on the case?
7500 Miles? These suzuki's are bullet proof.
Indeed!
Hey I have a 96 zrt 600 triple you got any interest in rebuilding that motor?
How are those paper base gaskets holding up? What brand were they? OEM are metal.
so far so good...i think i got the kit from mfg supply
new sub. nice video thank you

If you do Chase use thread chaser and not tap... Tap can remove too much material
Nice rebuild kind a pistons you use to rebuild em??

Country cat has all the manuals online...i printed from there
How is your bench made
2x4s and plywood
What type of pistons are those?

I watched the full hour and i dont even own a snowmobile
Just think, Arctic Cat owners have to do this multiple times a year 😰
Once a year! Haha. How long of a season do you have? I think this sled had over 6 or 7,000 miles on it when he did this.
Your torque wrench is out of spec
I don't doubt that, I think mine is too lol
