I felt that moment at 1:12 , I always take the largest distance there is when entering a double or even triple and then I‘m like “Shiiiiit this is so tight“. Great ride tho!

My horse has a super weird stride so I can’t count it with steps so once I’m on course I just have to feel how she’s cantering that day take a quick look at all the jumps and guess like in videos you will hear me saying stuff like “Ya that’s about six strides and that one over there is 2 or 3 I think”
@@No-uq5jt oh nice xD Have you tried measuring the distances pre-ride (1m per step)? What I would do is put two poles on the ground with 18m between them and see how your horse takes them each day. That could help you evaluate how you can estimate the stride length.
@@teddybear5788 Ya I have I’ve tried poles I’ve tried so many things including pre measuring but her canter changes so much that she will trip over them or refuse them (yes she refuses poles on the ground but will jump a 3 foot vertical like it’s nothing) she has a very inconsistent stride

Yesterday I was going to jump for my first time but the horse reared up when I was grooming him got loose and broke his halter and someone had to go catch him, he ended up scraping his back leg and he was still scared. So I couldn’t ride him so I rode a different horse, he ran out of the arena with me on him and refused to go back into the arena unless my instructor walked him in. Then he threw me twice once on the ground and once into the gate. So yea I didn’t get to jump:/
We all have good and bad days and horses too! I’ve been there plenty of times and have twice in one day before as well. don’t beat yourself up about it and don’t make a really bad day put you down or be the end. Keep working hard and following your goals! ❤️❤️

i am a twelve year old girl and i have a 15 year old really fast fresh pony, shes really lovely shes just extremely fast! she loves jumping and we jump 80 and 90cm aprox, when i an older i hope to be as good as you!
Yeah, I spent the first 2-ish years with my horse mostly doing bareback and balance training. Now we're jumping about a meter and even if I get a "holy shit" distance I won't get too unseated. I'd take time to enjoy whatever level of riding you're at.

My cousin (who is 11) bought a show jumper and he does jumping so good and gopher goes so fast in canter(I think all show jumpers do🤣)
