K9999 has to be redesigned however since SNK refuse to put him in due part of being an overt Tetsuo reference.

They dont look nice. Its pretty shit. Yeah the KOF 13 sprites are incredible of course. But we need to move to 3D. Imagine this getting Terry-like Smash renders for all of them (just a little more polished) or a style like ArcSystem models. That would be the ultimate KOF visual experience. No its not, guilty gear still use 3d models so its the same as kof, but it does looks like 2d sprites becasue of the cell shading.Cell shading graphics are way easier and cheap to make than semi realistic textures.
KOF is not an anime fighter and it has never been, it has its own style, a style that has been represented in a great way in XIV You kids need to know that pretty crispy shit its not all that important, you know, and the KOF series has ALWAYS been about substance, actual gameplay over pretty looks

It's not so much the models as it is the animations. They made the mistake of keeping the style and timings of their older 2d games. They work for sprites but because these are 3d models, the sense of weight and momentum is lost and it ends up looking lightweight and cheap.
i remember playing some KOF game on PS2 in 3D , it wasnt that good but still you could enjoy it and the last boss was awesome but this one feel kinda meh , feeled the movements even more slower than the PS2 game (i think it was maximun impact i don't remember). Definitely prefer the XIII version wich was a top tier game.
