What a nice, calm instructor. I'm a student who gets nervous doing stalls because I'm worried that I'll go into a spin, and people say that you can overcome it by practicing spins so I think I'll try a spin-rated plane with an instructor like this (if I can get up the courage...).
if anyone watches this, know this. you recovery from a spin by OPPOSITE RUDDER FIRST (to stop the spin), THEN and ONLY THEN do you release back pressure on the elevators/stick then come in with power. Recovering the way this guy teaches could have have you coming out of the stall WHILE STILL IN THE TURN (and very possibly damage the aircraft).
Your instructor sounds fantastic. I am wanting to do this training but I'm very intimidated by spins and afraid that I might freeze at the stick during it.
He is fantastic. I highly recommend doing this with an experienced instructor. If you freeze the first few times the instructor will have your back and show you the maneuver. By the tenth time you will lose the fear and learn that the recovery, which is unintuitive and needs to be conditioned. Be sure the person you practice with does them regularly; some CFIs don't and it might not be the safest idea to have the brush up while you are learning.
I highly recommend it if you trust your CFI and he trains spin recovery frequently (some don’t). It’s a zero G maneuver so the feeling is not that discomforting. Have fun!

What a great CFI. So composed.

I thought the plane and the voice sounded familiar, just flew 224RA yesterday and flew with Martin a couple years ago! Great teacher
Excellent footage thanks for sharing!

Who is the CFI? He sounded very reassuring
Martin Michaud
Rafael Moreno Ferrer thanks-great video: I’m trying to psych myself up for spin recovery training but dread the feeling of it!
