I like this instructor's style. Keeps the student encouraged and calm. Just before I watched this video, I watched one where the instructor offered no encouragement, but a healthy dose of "You're doing it wrong!"

Love it! Haha, back to the early, early days of Flight Chops with this post.
I recently stumbled across this video and comment from 2015. Steve has come along way since then and now his airplane is a show-center attraction at Oshkosh! I met Steve and chatted a couple of weeks ago visited at OSH ‘22. What a wonderful time!

@@Razor5624 Right on thanks! And yes, it’s been a fun ride since then.

I'm learning on a 7ECA and having trouble with the roundout, but it's so much fun!

SiliconValleySky I did most of my initial training with tricycle Cherokees, which have a good solid roundout and float feel, being low-wing. When I fly the Citabria, there isn't really a roundout as much as a "fly it into the runway and adjust pitch until you not-quite crash". I still need a lot more practice and an iffy-weather day like this one to clear the runway. :P

Good job....just a couple of hopefully constructive comments, try to get your students to use aircraft based reference points in the pattern as opposed to a road or a line of trees and such. This way it works for every airport and runway in the world. For example the trailing edge of the wing abeam the threshold for base turn etc...of course that varies a bit from airplane to airplane but not that much. And perhaps a little less talking and hand holding...allow the student to make small mistakes that he can learn from and get more confidence and skills, you won’t always be with him in the back seat to coach him every step of the way . Keep up the good work!
