Tbf MLS often gets criticised for not having atmosphere but with FC Cincinnati and LAFC that's changing.
Atlanta and Seattle are where it’s at. The atmosphere there could go toe to toe with Europe or South America
@@obamna666 it's pretty good, I like it, but hell no. Teams like boca juniors, river plate, dortmund, red star Belgrade will have the greatest atmosphere especially during rivalry games. Even sounders and atl United dont come close

I'm gonna miss FCC when they move to their new stadium, its been fun having them on campus and having them here got me to start paying attention to soccer
Fairplay, I'm getting a very Liverpool, Atletico, Dortmund-esque vibe to their support - a bit more working class, previously disenfranchised fan base coming together with their own identity and smashing the glamour clubs off the park. Good luck to them.

Soccer in America is really the 3rd sport of America behind Grid Iron and Basketball. Soccer has the highest participation of all the major sports in America and is ranked as the second most popular sport for Americans under 35. The reason is the videogame FIFA is actually teaching the Americans about soccer because it one of the most popular sports videogames in the US. Atlanta United is the 4th highest attended soccer team in world football. The problem in the US for soccer is the media, who treat soccer like a niche minor sport, so give it very little mainstream coverage despite the fact MLS is 3rd best attended sports league in America and US world cup games get higher TV ratings than NBA, MLB and NHL finals. The next big problem in the US is the pay to play system, where it can cost as much $8000 a year to play in an amateur kids team. This makes soccer super upper middle class like tennis in the US and excludes kids from a poorer background from getting into the game and the better and hungrier athletes tend to be working class, so the US nation team is not as good as it should be. The unfettered capitalism US means it cost more to play in kids sunday team than playing in the academy of Man CIty. If none of the French World Cup team would have been rich enough to play soccer in the US.
You have to be stupid to think Americans are learning soccer/futbol from FIFA LMAO!!!!!! Soccer is HUGE at the youth level in America in a lot of states. So those kids are now grown up and teaching soccer to their kids.

well it doesn't compare to atlanta united. no team compares to atlanta. our highest attendance is about 71,000.

i would like to correct myself. atlanta united usually restricts about 30,000 seats, leaving a capacity of 42,500. even with those restrictions, atlanta united brings in about 53,000 fans a game, filling the capacity to 123%. on the other hand, cinci is filled up to 84% in a stadium with 10,000 less seats than atlanta's. the numbers speak very clearly.
@@alon-so Its is impossible to overfill a stadium, games where the attendance is over 42 500 they have opened up restricted seats, they cant just let more people in without having anywhere to sit.

Atl is bigger and got success right away. It’s easy to support when you are winning and in a big market with a big stadium. It’s much harder when in a smaller market. FCC has been dead last since they started in 2019 and still have been selling out the far smaller 30k seat Nippert Stadium

Just because FCC gets 33k in their first game doesn't mean they have the best fans. Atlanta and Seattle are still the best. Atlanta United average 53k last year which is more than Juventus.
33K is max they can get in that stadium. Atlanta and Seattle also have a much larger population than Cincinnati. All the bars and restaurants in Clifton (where the stadium is) that have tv's have all their tables reserved for people that are wanting to watch the game. I would agree that Cincinnati fans are up there with the best if not the best in the league.
So why does the number of people attending affect the atmosphere. Those cities have a bigger population but FCC have a better crowd where everyone interacts and chants. Everyone gets involved.

Not sure why so many fanbases are trying to earn the title of "best fanbase in the MLS." You know why I'm not sure? I thought it was very obvious and clear that Atlanta United will reign as the best fanbase. I would've thought that it wasn't even worth a shot trying to take Atlanta's crown. It's not happening.
Atlanta United has hands down the best fans in MLS point blank period
They also got gifted an mls cup team after just 68 games. It’s easy to support when in a big market where you’ve gotten nothing but success. While I won’t deny that atl is bringing in fans, they also are in a place where it’s easy to bring fans. FCC is in a much smaller market with a much smaller stadium and is still bringing in the 3rd highest attendance despite struggling on the field
