@@strxwberrymoki5031so ground her for an entire month lol? Doesn’t make sense
Shorts domt cost much. If they can afford a place to live then they can afford to spare a few bucks at the thrift store. You can find perfectly intacts 3 dollar shorts at a thrift. If you get hospitalized from over heating the only person they can blame is themselves
It was even cheaper back then, like $1.50. Or they could have just stole them or something 🙃
That's actually crazy to ground your kid for making themselves shorts so they dont overheat in the summer
Grounding you for that was bad parenting. You were a child, expressing a want for clothes suitable for summer. Its not hard to turn jeans into shorts, and since they couldn't buy you a pair they should have helped you turn your pants into shorts instead of punishing you.
Don’t have kids if you can’t clothe them. Don’t punish them for your lack of resources. Easy.
They shouldn’t have grounded you for that that does not sound right and also making a kid suffer through the summer with Pete just because you won’t go to the Goodwill or the any charity that gives children clothes what is wrong with your parents back then?
I know it's unfair to judge people based on one single story but the punishment really doesn't match the crime here
Also a lot of previous stories about her parents makes them sound really bad
@SolArcturus That's sad
I would've actually flipped out if they had grounded me for that shit 💀
Fr😭
Grounded for a month-? I think that's a bit much for just cutting jeans. Also, if it's that hot, they should at least give you shorts of their own and try to make sure it will actually fit?
Grounding is insane, honestly making your own shorts with jeans was creative also saved money so idk what’s the problem
I love your stories remy your my fav TH-camr
The cutting of Jean shorts was a yearly tradition at my house.
Only other poor kids can relate to being punished because your parents are broke 😭
As a person “who has never been grounded because it’s not in my parents’ punishment tradition”, I’d say you need justice from your parents, I bet these jeorts doesn’t look too shabby.
Yea that’s their fault it’s dangerous to be forced to wear long pants in the summer depending on where you live my parents have always been very poor but they’ve always made sure we had weather appropriate clothes and there are many cheap ways to buy clothes them grounding you over trying to take care of your self is stupid
It’s kind of the parents fault because they didn’t buy your shorts, understandably being mad sure that you cut a pair of your good jeans, but that’s kind of on them if they had gotten new shorts, regardless of how then there should be no issue
that's so unfair tbh, obviously you needed weather-appropriate clothes and were doing the best you could with what you had. i get parents being broke but they should have offered to help you trim an old pair of pants into shorts or gone to a thrift shop and get a pair for a couple bucks. having proper clothes for the weather is serious, it's not like you were just goofing around and cut up your clothes for no reason.
Well that’s bs…. You saw a problem and tried to solve the problem when your parents dismissed the problem and then got in trouble for it? 😂
It sounds like something my mom would do... Mommy issues core~~~ 🥹🥹🥹😔😔😔
Story time { I was young so I don't remember but my dad told me this } my mom's cat get po!sone by our ex neighboor so the cat cameback to home and u know.. a cat's dy!ng can vomit or things like that... the cat did it cuz you know... po!son... and my mom was screaming "Stop ! Stop to vomit on the couch !" but my dad said to her "Why are you screaming ? "Your" cat is dy!ing ! Hug her for the last time instead" Sadly my mom is dumb so she didn't really did that.. my dad had to help the cat to go in a better world and now my mom is still like "Yeah... it was an incredible cat" but... if you love your cat so much then why you didn't hug her ? I don't know.. like.. when in my nightmare my cat is dy!ng I run to him and hug him or when my kitty cat start to eat some part of my plush I called my mom for tell to her to go see the doctor... she said it's nothing... sadly I can't do anything cuz it's too far from my home I mean... I can do this but not with a 2kg cat crying every 2min...oh and even if she say it was "her" cat the cat prefered my dad... You wanna know why ? Well... my mom used to h!t them on their back { just upper than the tail } the only one who didn't had to get trought that is our new cat cuz she's 24h/24h in my bedroom or with me and the only time I've h!t my cat it was cuz the older one bit me until blood for... I don't know Witch reason... and I did it with no strong like... I just touch his nose and he never did that again... and my dad is like me he just play with the cat { grab their paw when they wanna walk, touch their ears's hair or things like that } or h!t them without strong when they hurt him....
Sorry for my bad grammar
grounding a kid for that HAS to be abuse.
I have memories of visiting friends houses and them saying they didn’t have enough money for clothes. Meanwhile their dad is drinking beer and their mom is blasted in makeup…
How can you be grounded when, it's hot out, they refused to buy you shorts and refused to help the situation
Those brownies look so good! And Oml, cookies aren’t really something I make but I need the recipe for both 👀 (if at all possible)
That makes me so mad. If it’s hot outside and you need shorts, and they have a history of not getting you them, of course a child thinks of a solution. Sure it was poorly executed but to punish a child because they tried to help themselves because they knew you couldn’t/wouldnt is messed up
hey Remy! I really enjoy your content and LOVE TO SEE YOUR COOKING MASTERPIECES! All the food you cook looks SO GOOD, keep posting!! :D
Thank you so much! That's so sweeettt
@@littleremyfood of course! :D
Hi Remy! I really love your content and have watched all of your videos which is why I always get SUPER EXITED when you post new videos! Keep up the good work! :D
Thats like grounding your child for turning a cardboard box into a play house. Kids will be kids
That’s actually not ok to get grounded because you tried to make shorts while it was supper hot even if they were broke they should have supplied you with shorts even from the thrift store
Lol, I feel like every kid has that one fashion moment that haunts them 😂. But honestly, what’s even worse is the grounding! Like, come on, it was just experimenting 😅. Parents just don’t understand the importance of self-expression! ✨
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s child abuse where I grew up. You can’t be walking around in 110 degree heat in full jeans.
Please use my mug cake recipe!!!
4 spoons flour
1,5 spoons of dark cocoa powder
1 egg
2 spoons sugar
4 spoons milk
4 spoons oil
0,5 tablespoons of baking powder
In the microwave for 4 minutes❤
Ooh, trying this-
I got grounded for a month for bringing a sandwich into the tv room
I'm so sorry.
I think this should be a lesson learned to your parents, it’s summer so you obviously need shorts so you don’t get heat exhaustion or maybe in an extreme, die from overheating
parents try not to unnecessarily beat kids challenge: impossible
She said grounded?
@@axethepenguin she said “ripped me a new one. i was grounded for a month” there for implying they were physical with her in some way, before they decided to ground her. if thats not the case then she shouldn’t have worded it that way lol
@@pinkruntripping you a new one does not imply violence in any way unless your taking it literally in which case she would likely be dead if she got “ripped” in any way. That’s a common saying for a angry talking too, everyone in this comment section is so upset over nothing.
@@Idkoogabooga4 people say “ripped me a new one” when someone puts their hands on them. doesn’t mean she’d “likely be dead”💀 but sure whatever you say
@@pinkrunt It also means verbally berating someone when used in a metaphorical context.
your parents shouldnt have kids if they have no money to buy pants. this is a good lesson to anyone who isnt financially stable. just dont have kids, it's not worth it, there's a good chance they get bullied due to your lack of money and end up miserable instead of cheerful like she is
im not even listening to the story just drooling😂😂
"We'll see.." Is the only non-suspicious excuse parents use 'cause they know we'll forget about it sooner or later 😭
You should really try making J Kenji Lopez Alt’s 3 ingredient Mac and cheese- it’s super simple but seriously one of the best Mac and cheeses I’ve ever had! Tip: add some toasted breadcrumbs on top too to make it even better :)
I’ve tried that! It’s so good
Your childhood stories never get old😊
Remy's life is so random lol, luv you!
Damn grounding a kid who tried to make shorts when you don't even have 10 bucks to buy them shorts is diabolical
Getting grounded for that? Seems too much for just that. You were a kid, I feel like there were/are many kids that would have done this. My mom has some shorts that were made by just some cutting and sewing. Of course, those did go well, but you were learning. You were a kid. Get that you probably didn't have many jeans but at least one you could turn into shorts
Bro that's wild 😭 they did you mega dirty
You were in the right tho??? If you can’t afford it then let her make her own!
Wait is that..
WATCH OUT! ITS THE-
JORRRT STOOORRRRRM
Neglectful and abusive parents
You look so pretty in glasses ❤
Wait so they grounded you for ripping apart a pair of jeans and then just did it themselves? Im confused 😭
It’s an expression, ripping someone a new one basically means they scolded/yelled at her really badly
@@thebigbananabigverybig921 ohh okay
@@M87lolIdioms are a key feature of human speech. If you can't understand them, you are subhuman.
If you are a Zoomer there is actual medical evidence to back this claim.
to add on to the explanation someone gave you, "I'm going to rip/tear you a new one" means "I am going to beat you up so severely, I will give you a second butthole."
it is also often used to imply someone yelled violently and angrily, not always physical violence but still intentionally agressive. It can mean physical or just yelling.
Those cookies look delicious 😋
A whole month is INSANE. I used to cut holes in my jeans all the time but only once they were old enough to actually wear down in the knee. And we were poor too but we could afford to have summer clothes so i wouldn't get sick from heatstroke. Based on the extreme over reaction and refusal to get you proper clothing, I'd call it abuse honestly. It's abusive if you dont get kids proper winter clothes. It's abusive if you don't get them (or allow them to make their own) summer clothes. I have POTS now and so even 85 can lead to me fainting so I take the heat very seriously. :( I know it's probably a lot to hear from so many people how awful that was for you to go through when you talk so light heartedly about it in this video, so I'm sorry you went through that and if this is how you're realizing it wasn't okay they did that.
no matter how “broke” you were that was really fcked up for your parents to get mad at you for that. It was their own fault for not buying you shorts.
You should mix all your favourite things from the celebrity Mac and cheeses and make the ultimate delicious Mac and cheese!!!
that wasn’t your fault,it was theirs! what were they expecting you to do,have a freaking heat stroke because they were too poor to buy you a couple pairs of shorts!?
Are Those Straykids Felix his brownies?
They look sooo good!❤

They can ground u but cant buy u clothes like parents should..?
Kinda messed up, you had a problem they wouldn't address and attempted to form your own solution, it could've been a lesson for young you and bonding time together working to make the shorts properly instead of a punishment.
Can you please make a long 1 hour video of these stories! It would be amazing
PLEASE make chili dogs from sonic 🥺🥺🥺🥺
We neeeed more story’s like this remy!!
This shows how depressing the world is, they needed shorts but listend when they said maybe, how you have kids crying over an iPad.
Remy's storys are never boring ❤😂😊😊
That was crule a months gounding for trying to make a pair of shorts out of jeans i get like a scolding or like grounded for a day or two but a month! And they could have just goten you a cheep of shorts like seriously
Ahhh so your parents were neglecting you and your needs, and then grounded you when you tried to take care of yourself
They're shorts it's not that deep 🤦♂️
Remy Is the creative one
Omg imagine if they didn’t notice and everyone was looking at the other side 😭
American groundings are too overkill. I guess everything really is bigger in America
Your parents suck for that-
My parents are good on money but i always hear "we will think of it" no matter what it is.
Ive been waiting for a 2 $ fluffy pen 7 years already
I thought she was gonna say she made cookies to sell😭😭
Im not hearing the storia but dreaming to eat those cookies 😂
Literally all they needed to do was take you to goodwill or even those free clothing donations places.. You just took way more priority than them tryna cut the shorts yourself.
Those desserts you were making look so GOOD OMG 😮
My mouth is literally watering 😋🤤🤤🤤
That’s actually a really sad story. It’s hot outside you needed shorts so you made shorts and get grounded for making something your parents couldn’t supply? That’s really shitty
You were probably such a sweet kid. Full of energy and fun!❤
Hot take, it was their fault and they punished you for nothing. They had said no to getting you even just one pair of shorts, wouldn't help you make your own, and then got angry when you tried to fix the problem. Sounds like they just hate shorts tbh.
But it was literally their fault!😭. C'mon, you can get a pair of shorts for under 10 dollars if you look/thrift right.
That DOESN'T deserve a grounding.
Me watching this while is broke:👁️👄👁️
Her videos where she tells stories and bakes are like those candy salad things but its about something traumatic that happened to them i love them sm 😭
Lmao grounding after not offering solutions to a frustrated child that asked multiple times for one is such parent bs.
THAS THE FAMOUS HOBO STYLE😂
That looks so good and your story’s are always so funny 😂
The more I hear stories about your parents, the more worried I get. They sound kind of abusive 🤷♀️
Ts is NOT normal😭😭😭🔥🔥‼️
