I generally don't even attempt to play full bar chords on a heavy stringed, tough old acoustic anymore. There's always four string inversion that works just as well.
Man that’s a bummer for sure. You are amazing. It sounds like you are working around that inconvenience. I bet you have a great story regarding the snake bite. It would be interesting to know how you play with your index finger missing. I know you can play what I refer to as “cheater chords”. And of course, most all chords you can play as Triads. Rock on dude!
@@DJungling Still have the bottom digit. Cant bar but about a third of the way across the neck. I use a lot of sounds ok cords and notes. Now days I just play and sing for the family. A long way from the night I got to sit in with Di Meola! Guess we all have a high point!
Simply put a capo on, every time you need to change to a new chord, quickly take it off and put it on the required fret, if you need to change to a non bar chord, simply take it off really quickly, your welcome
Good for you. This was intended to help people who can not play a barre chord with the bar finger. Arthritis or whatever. We’re so happy you can do it. We should celebrate.
Thanks David !
i love this! my barre chords were getting better anyway, but your F to C move has me convinced! subbed, man make more videos please!
@@michaelkrogers thanks. Yeah lots of songs you can benefit by using this method of barre chord.

Yes you got that right.
Missing most of my first finger thanks to a snake bite. C cord is my hardest.

Haha. Thanks Colby. Don’t know if I’m quick enough!
Why not ask a friend to stand behind you and provide the necessary index finger...?
