When I was a kid, we visited some older relatives in the Ozarks to pick strawberries, which were growing on the side of a hill so steep you had to watch your footing. As an adult, I've driven through the Ozarks a few times, but I haven't stopped to look around much. I did spend a day photographing headstones at a couple of cemeteries near Marshall, because that's where my mother's people lived. Even though I was kinda on a genealogy mission that day, I did spend some time just looking at the landscape. It's a beautiful place.
Cool. I picked a many strawberries but in another state it was in Cape Girardeau, MO. It was several fields that we had worked, there were a lot of people helping and we really had a crop. We wound up with 23 trucks loaded 😂 I am a bit of an oddball, and so at one point during harvest i had ventured off alone down the back way to a small field that had been mostly neglected and was very weedy. After walking around for a little while I started finding these huge strawberries under the grass. I ran and got my buddies and we were all amazed at the size of those strawberries i had found 😅 We figured they were a different species and that was why they were so big 🍓
@@AllAboutArkansasTravels No mam, I think we figured someone had planted some reserved special seeds over there in the back little field, but I don't remember for sure, it was about 13 years ago, but it seems we couldn't determine wether they were all-stars or diamante strawberries. Someone probably planted them back there and thought they'd give it a try and they actually grew although it was a smaller amount of them. But they were probably the biggest I reckon I've ever seen, lol
If I’m not mistaken the Kendra drive in theater is in Marshall. They have car shows at the drive in sometimes. Haven’t been but planning to go sometime
The man you were talking to sounded very familiar. I can’t remember his name but he owns Buffalo Outfitters and he has been on Arkansas Outdoors and Exploring Arkansas.
Have you been to the Arkansas Ozarks?

The trees get me every time. Arkansas is so green!
I know! I don't realize it until I leave AR and come back. It's like a jungle out here!
