This year I think is really gonna come down to QB play. Previous 2 years, it was the defense that was falling flat and Jim Knowles whipped them into shape last year. This last year, it really was the QB and Special Teams. Kyle McCord did not even come close to filling the void left by CJ Stroud. Even with a lackluster QB, the Buckeyes got within 40 yards of beating Michigan, so Ryan Day is slowly figuring it out. This year, he went all out on coaching, players and overall change he needed to make. As a Buckeyes fan, this is the year I think he can finally get it done, but we do not know just how good this year's team will and if they corrected the OL issues completely. I am praying that we will see Ohio State really show some grit and toughness going into the Oregon game as that could make or break the season (outside of the game with Michigan).

@@TheGoodTherapist No, McCord was bad. Stroud did not have a run game in the second matchup and all they had to do was drop back in zone and Stroud had nowhere to throw. McCord had a run game that Michigan needed to respect overall, which opened up some receivers, he just read the defense horribly. McCord was one of the reasons they lost to Michigan, end of story.
Life long Buckeyes fan here, this is for all you new booties. The Game is always the most physical on the calendar for a reason. Going back to those Hoke teams a lot of games could've gone either way. Ohio State won 17 in a row and the majority of those games were hard-fought grudge matches. The Game will be the toughest with Ohio State probably the favorite to win. Around the team nobody is having a petty party or feeling sad neither is Ryan Day. We have the #1 recruiting class thus far and the team is coming together and working hard this off-season. We got the receipts in Columbus and come late November it's going go the way it's going go #GoBucks.

The way I see it there’s only 3 scenarios.
1) no real qb1 emerges, subpar offense keeps this team from winning the natty.
2) a good enough mobile qb1 emerges, and like Stetson bennet or cardale jones. Does just enough to win a natty.
3) Julian sayin, and really only him for the sake of his own potential, picks up the torch where cj left it, this team goes unleashed and breaks records.
Sayin is a year away. Howard is going to get it done even if he isn’t as good of a passer as Kyle was. Unlike Kyle he won’t stand like a statue in the pocket and that extra 2 seconds of scramble means someone is going to be open with this roster. Not only that, if everyone is covered and he scrambled for 3 yards every play, you’re no worse than Michigans offense last year. The mobility alone will save multiple drives this year, especially when it matters. That’s also worse case scenario where he is not as good as Kyle in the passing game.

Ryan Day is improving every year through learning from mistakes. Still a very young coach in experience years. Building an incredible roster for 24 with players and staff. Getting an offensive coordinator should pay off especially the caliber of Kelly. Who's going to improve the head coach position?

This Quarterback named Will Howard has no chance to lead Ohio State anywhere. Howard is NOT a great quarterback and it will cost Ohio State a Natty. Why did they settle for him? Put him in front of a great defensive line (Texas, Alabama, Georgia, etc) with fast defensive backs and he'll wilt into the gridiron.
