They are built different than previous OSU teams. Excellent defense, run game specialist OC, and great offensive backfield. Not relying on pass game to carry them. This team is built to win

Look im A Ohio State head. I dont see what everyone sees about our defense. Yeah we bring everyone back. But i remember last year we barely got pressure on QBs hardly any sacks. Couldn't stop the run when we needed to. Im just being honest idk man i hope we can live up to the hype. Im not on the band wagon saying most talented team ever. 2015 was the most loaded IMO. Everyone was proven at every level especially on the offensive and D line and both Qbs proved they were great the year before. This team doesnt have a proven qb. I think 2015 is the moat loaded year.

Having lots of talent on a team is not the same as having a great team. We’ll see what they’re capable of doing. My guess is they lose to Oregon and against Michigan Ryan Day will let the pressure get into his head and he’ll lose again due to bad decision making. Then they will get an at large bid to the playoffs and probably lose to an SEC team like they always do

Talent is a small part of the pie. Culture is 80% of it and nobody in college ball has the culture that exists in Michigan. Michigan is the new Georgia and all of you will just have to accept that. Next to Rutgers in the cake schedule--Iowa, Penn St, Nebraska. All three only have one of the top teams to play--Ohio State. Now if Penn St can't manage a playoff spot with their schedule time for serious reflection.

Fryor 70 and Simmons 71 were not good last year they are still here! The only way to know if this O line has improved is on the field. The 2015-2016 team was one of the best teams I’ve ever seen they should have won back to back titles. What happened? They forget to give the ball to Zeke, they couldn’t figure out who their QB was(JT or Cardale) and their Offensive coordinator was terrible. Talent doesn’t always mean championships. I hope I am wrong but just because urban and Jim say it mean I am going to celebrate a team as the best ever when they haven’t played a game together.
@Youngthomas78 dude, they played the best DL in the spring game. Simmons played pretty damn well by the end of the season. The OL did better against Xichigan than Bama did. Simmons is a projected top 5 OT in the draft. Fryar was All B1G. The RG spot is the only question mark. And Carson probably wins that. So all experienced starting OL. With Chip run scheme, it is going to be insane. The OL will be fine. HOWARD will be the QB. He's absolutely an upgrade to KMC. This offense is going to be unstoppable. And the Defense will be the best in America. They just need to stay healthy and rotate.

Would not have been the starter in the Little Apple this season and would NOT start at ,at least,40 other FBS schools.And they gave that guy 1.1 million dollars. I was at the spring game (obviously a cards to the vest practice) and the talent is there. They were a gnats ass from winning it all for several years in a row. Time will tell this year. Pretty pumped to see a Chip Kelly offense with this talent on the field at once. He's never had this amount of talent to play with on offense. Again, time will tell. It HAS to get done this year. Period.

Team excellence is much more than individual/roster talent. In the very recent history, only Saban, Meyer and Smart have been able to develop teams that are loaded with this level of elite talent-and approach their potential. Day is far below that group of elite coaches. It appears as though Day would do better to follow the Clemson and Michigan model and include a goodly number of lower rated but high ceiling recruits in his classes.
That’s exactly it. Ohio State has become complacent and has no “juice” under Ryan Day. The team looks lifeless. I hate so say it, but it feels like I’m watching an nfl game sometimes.

Ohio State needs O line help, they have 5 stars everywhere else and high 3 low 4 star avg on the Offensive line. The o line deeply effects your RB, QB, & WR rooms productivity. With a better Oline "McCord" beats Michigan and wins Big Ten, then who knows in CFP you only had to win 2 games... The Oline we have had was good just not Great or Elite to handle Great or Elite teams. OSU should have well developed 4 and 5 stars at every position on the line plus 3 solid #2s on depth chart min to compete w the Big Boys consistently. I love Ryan Day, idc if he would lose to ttun again I wouldn't want him fired. But they really need some boys to step up Big this season! O-H

NOBODY.And that is without Jalen Hale.ohio has 1 guy as fast and explosive as Kendrick Law,Ryan Williams,Emanuel Henderson,and Cole Adams(a healthy Hale also) and that would be Ballard but he cant play. Smith is a nice prospect,but ANY more so than Caleb Odom? Hell no..Just more hype. Smith certainly isnt bigger,faster,or more athletic. Nobody for a long time has had a better 1st year group of Wr's than Alabama has in Williams,Odom,Amari jefferson,Rico Scott,and Bubba Hampton...And just wait until next year...lol...

Edge-ohio(2 guys) gives them the edge in experience.But neither of ohio's edge guys have really been special,minus a game,or so, for both. LT Overton has a MUCH bigger upside than either one of those guys as the Bandit in Coach Wommacks 4-2-5. Jordan Renaud,Keon keeley +Ja-Marien Latham are a better group than ohio's backups,and I am not even talked about the other Edge. The Wolf position(The schematic position that easily tells you why Justin Hill,IF he gets the right advice,should go to TitleTown to play.Plus QRob,who has watched Will A,Dallas Turner,and Chris Braswell play while patiently waiting his turn,as has Keanu Koht. And the young shit breaker Russaw,plus the 2 Harold Perkins-like youngsters Yonzae Pierre+Noah Carter....5 former 5-star edges for ohio astronomers.....
IDL-Williams is ohio's best player.On either side of the ball. He got shit advice by not coming out. I think he would have been a low 2nd rounder and got his clock started. Ive watched for three years how teams that try to buy and trade for championships keep failing. You have to build a team. OSU seems to get praised before they accomplish anything. How aboit concentrating on the killer schedule first.
