- The 15th December 2019 marked the final day an Intercity 125 would operated a long-distance passenger service on the ECML and for LNER. On the day, there would be 3 HST's running however, unlike GWR's last day of the HST's where they had their last 4 line up at Paddington, they would arrive one at a time then leave before the next arrived. All the trains did arrive in the late evening which did mean that it would be completely dark and so very little light but it was a day nonetheless.. One rather annoying part of the day however was that the first two HST's were sent into Platform 0 which is probably the worst choice of platform. The platform is quite narrow so with all the other spotters, it was quite cramped.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the last day of ECML HST's.

My fav HST took out last last departure to depot 43290. At least ill see her with EMR. Also nice of the 91 to blast to say farewell too. I miss them on the ECML already.
Departure of the last LNER class 43's to leave kings Cross, on East Coast Main line. Replaced by the new Azuma 800/801's
Good bye to the hsts on the East coast mainline
Driver has more skill in sounding the horn here than they did on the final one.
Don't worry, I will see the LNER HSTs at Neville Hill Depot in Leeds.
They could have kept 43238 in the Museum Livery rather than paint it Red
First one was epic
