Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae used to be one of the strongest characters in the game in Version 1 for dealing incredible amounts of DPS at the time (albeit at a steep cost). Over a year since his release and his meta relevance is beginning to decline fast. For today's Why NO ONE Plays we're gonna find out what happened to him.

I'm already not playing her, bc no sig lc, no eidolon,no jiaoqiu. I recall pulling her bc of her animations and that broken technique where you can takedown pesky mobs without any battle

You know HSR's powercreep is bad when a potential "Why everyone plays" character becomes a "why no one plays" character only one year later
No one played Himeko until Pure Fiction changed everything. Now she's top tier dps for PF. Speaking of which, I just got E1 Himeko while pulling Sunday, lol. E2 would be great though.
@@Laereithats different, himeko only was bad because she couldn’t be used in MoC, so what she needed is a game mode that suits her
Then we have dhil which already has the game modes he is meant to play and was the best unit to play for the time, now he simply got powercrecpt
same goes for seele, blade, jingliu and so on
even supports got powercrept, basically luocha is useless now and fu xuan isnt worth going for when aven exists
and even some 2.x chars got powercrept, sparkle now has only one team that she is the “best” option in while she was everybody’s best support when she was released
it really put the "honkai" in honkai star rail 😭
OR, and hear me out, he was a unit that came out early in the game's lifespan so his mechanics werent very well thought out.

@@iiKhaled0 another thing to note that as Vars said, she is a standard banner so worse case scenario you don't need to go out of your way to invest in her as opposed to DHIL. Himeko also got massively boosted by Fugue's release so if you face fire weak enemies in MoC/AS I think Himeko will preform well. The current AS has the monkeys as the boss fight which Himeko can do really well against.

As long as debuffs and follow up attacks get some lvl of boost then they’ll stay fine like if there’s a nihility healer acheron will stay in T1 for all of 3.0

Character who's weakness is compensated by strength that are merely "do alot of damage" will always falloff a cliff. Which is exactly what DHIL is. He spend large sp cost for high damage AOE nuke
The problem is damage is typically the first thing a game tries to powercreep, so eventually DHIL gets into a position where his high damage become just normal damage, and by the end all he's left with is the weakness that never goes away
His skill point consumption really 'drag'on him down

It really sucks that you can't take a break from this game or else by the time you come back all your units will be outdated. It just happened to me, my only dps characters currently are Dan Heng IL and Kafka lol I can't clear any endgame.

Firefly is the only limited 5* Destruction unit in 2.0 that still applies the 1.0 destruction over hunt mindset with that overloaded kit (hoyo def planned for this character to be great for cute sadge girl for MC fanservice)

Oh wow, just seeing the title, I think Sparkle is gonna get the next WNOP. If the DPS she supports gets a WNOP episode then so does her.
I'm surprised she doesn't have on already, I pulled for her because 'Harmony OP' but right from the start I could barely ever find a team to put her on.

@mactartaglia the problem is that she's never the first or second best option in any team at this point she used to be DHIL's best in slot support but E0S1 sunday now literally just does everything Sparkle does but better it's so sad 😞
@mactartagliaNot really, if your team isn’t desperate for skill points then it’s just better to use someone else, her attack buff is nice but for most DPS units Sunday, Ruan Mei and Robin are just gonna be way better options.
Sunday while not having as much front loaded skill point generation is just as SP efficient, grants better buffs overall, regenerates energy, alongside being blessed with 100% action advance while Sparkle only has 50%.
Robin is just busted as hell, she advances EVERYONE and is basically the whole reason the follow-up meta is so good, as for Ruan Mei she’s one of the best break supports, and break is just busted.

Dan heng IL used to be one of the strongest DPS in the game, but all that is now just a legend of the past...😢

I think DHIL has still a good margin of improvement that can allow him to stay relevant in the future, because he plays in a niche that Hoyo hasn’t really touched, which is high SP consumption: just like Jing Yuan has made a huge jump in performance when his niche started to get expanded with Sunday, the same can happen with DHIL and even with Blade. Plus, we still don’t have tailor-made Relic and Planar sets that can go along with DHIL SP hungry playstyle, so that’s another easy buff that he could receive in the future.
Of all the 1.0 limited DPS units, I feel that Seele and Jingliu will be the most prone to being completely left behind as time goes on, because they don’t really have a niche that can be expanded upon: Jingliu may rejoice if we get a support that has Sunday’s E6 baked into the base kit, but at the same time pretty much every Crit DPS can appreciate something like that, while Seele’s Resurgence will become more and more difficult to activate the more enemies’ HP increase, she may be kept afloat by new generalistic supports but she would basically just stay there while everybody surpasses her.
Maybe I’m totally wrong and even Jingliu and Seele will have bright future in the meta, but at this moment I really don’t see many ways to make them shine again compared to DHIL and Blade.
Jingliu is much more likely to see a resurgence than Seele. (That was not intentional, but I'm keeping it) We've got two HP-manipulation based characters, technically 4 if you count Arlan and Firefly, and that's absolutely a niche that can be expanded on. A Furina-like character could make Jingliu and Blade top of the meta easily.
That being said, Seele isn't impossible either, but her support would need to be much more specific. Some sort of character that continually spawns a unit for the enemy that benefits the party on kill, or a character that can trigger on-kill effects whenever.
Maybe if hoyoverse decide to add a basic attack niche in the future, he may see more play
For seele, it could be a buff where if a crit procs, it counts as a kill regardless of the target's current HP.
For jingliu, it could be permanent buff/debuff zone whose potency increases as more number of ally HP gets drained (not total health drained, but the number of allies who HP gets drained).
Agree, if Hoyo adds a support like Sparkle but even MORE hyper-focused on SP consumption, not only DHIL but also Qingque could have their ranks up again.
When the same happens to Blade with a support that focuses on HP consumption, he and Arlan could see the light of day once more.
Though, I doubt it'll ever happen
If we ever get “crazy sp fluctuation” as a team archetype then I could see him getting a huge resurgence before the new unit of the week takes his spot.
Imagine a sustain that’d heal or shield after every 3-4 skill points used, or a support that lets you go into sp debt to deal higher damage at a HP cost, what about a harmony unit that can upgrade specific sp points in the consumption order to grant whoever consumes them a buff.
Sparkle feels like a bandaid solution, just slapping more sp on the problem. We need incentives to use a butt ton of sp per turn.

I don't have him personally but I'm gonna grab him on a rerun eventually even if he's falling off in meta I don't care, I just want the boy 🐉

good thing hes still good tho, hsr community basically throw characters to the sidelines as soon as they slightly start to underperform. been a dhil main since his first rerun and i can still clear moc with him just fine

I feel like this will happend with most DPS characters in this game. Kits already are so overloaded it's not even surprising honestly.
Same I got Sunday s1 and he felt soo much better, but so much better isn't that much anymore

Most of the people who still play him are the one with E2 DHIL with lightcone and also an expensive Sunday or Sparkle.
And yet with that much money spent he still deals the same or even lower damage than midly invested or F2P Firefly, Feixiao and Acheron.
So much money burning just to play your favorite characters in HSR.

Dan Heng was my FAVORITE character in HSR before Boothill, and he's still so close to my heart. I played Hunt Dan Heng longer than I'm ready to admit, and i was absolutely ecstatic when DHIL was announced. I pulled for him and his signature purely cause I loved him so much, and I was so glad he was a strong unit. He carried me so much at these times.
When Acheron, Firefly and others released, I was so dissapointed that DHIL felt weaker and weaker. I knew he could've been powercreeped, but when it got to it, it was dissapointing none of the less. I stubbornly continued to play DHIL, got Sparkle with her LC for him. But when Rappa released, I felt how DHIL was let down. When I see imaginary weak enemies, I think it's finally time for my dragon-boy to shine, only to struggle even with his strongest team. Cause it was made for Rappa, not DHIL. I hate it sm. I understand that powercreep is only natural for these kind of games, but it's so heartbreaking when it's your favourite character that you invested so much in. It sucks :( My boy got the stronger version of himself only to be powercreeped again a year later...

Even if there was to be a character that is an insane buff to dhil, there will probably be a lot of other way better dpses that benefit from said character more, just how its with jing yuan and the version 3 units being insanely broken but relaying on sunday
Unfortunately unlike Jingyuan, Big Daniel isn’t nearly as general (pun intended) and easy to buff. As it stands, most supports that work for him are either going out of style or work way better with another more valuable character. So unless we get a relic set that sends a characters damage to cosmic levels whenever you splurge skill points, Dragon Heng will continue his decline
I am a day 1, Dan Heng IL main. Yes, Dan Heng is still good imo. Yes, ik there is other dps that deal more dmg, but Dan Heng is still good enough for me. Dan Heng IL was the reason I came back to HSR. He still hits like a truck if built right and with good support. I will keep maining him cause I like his gimick

Honestly, I find the challenge of making sure Dan Heng has enough skills points while making sure the rest of the team is performing as best they can to be kinda fun, especially when I've got my other main damage dealer (boothill) built well enough that he can breeze through bosses so easily to the point of it getting a bit boring.
DHIL is probably the 2nd biggest beneficiary of Sunday after Jing Yuan. He still really wants E2 since then he takes full advantage of Sunday's energy, but he's almost a totally different unit in a similar vein as Jing Yuan.
He still needs Sparkle for the SP generation though.
@nobblkpraetorian5623 not necessarily. Hanya and even Robin can both take Sparkle's place though I agree I think Sparkle is best

@nobblkpraetorian5623 there are Sunday/Robin showcases with DHIL and even before Sunday he would often be used with Robin. It's not really as bad on SP as you might think if you're conscious of it

I think the issue with Blade IL and Jingliu is that they have no content catered to them. Look at Jingyuan having his comeback with summons meta and Sunday.
The destruction trio can comeback if HSR focus onto basic atk and hp fluctuations

The dps characters having to be in any of the established engines to be viable is why I'm so scared for The Herta, because, yes, she deals a lot of dmg now, but jingliu once did a lot of dmg too. There are people complaining that The Herta does 500k dmg to a single target, but in an year that's gonna be the norm, so I hope hypercarry sort of becomes an engine in its own right through true dmg or any other new mechanics.
The Herta: 500k ST in one attack(didn't read her kit, I may be wrong)
My Blade: Does 500k in 4 basic attacks, 2 ultimates and 1 FuA.
herta has the added benefit that she gets stronger as more erudition characters come out, same as acheron, so she'll be harder to powercreep since even if her damage becomes substandard she'll still be buffing whatever 4.x or 5.x erudition character she's paired with, making her more useable than a pure DPS character like DHIL or seele
@@maryla9497 I honestly believe that the erudition gimmick is going to hold her back rather than they push her forward, because it is just locking away a large chunk of her power unless you bring an erudition unit. The problem with that is, unlike Acheron and nihility units, erudition units are not known for buffing other units. This is why most Herta showcases are with Jade, because she buffs the speed of the designated character while doing more FuA AoE attacks than anyone else. The problem will come in the future when The Hertas dmg is not enough and they make her an erudition signature support. She will feel better for a bit, but just like DHIL and Sparkle, she will fall out of relevance a short while after. If the erudition part was included with no caveats, she could make use of more of the newest supports, making her a true hypercarry and having space for two broken supports instead of one. That's why DHIL fell off. His gimmick is Sp consumption and Sparkle fixed that for a bit, but now people started running Sunday Robin, completely replacing Sparkle,but sometimes being unable to use 3 sp skill, not being to reach his potential, but still being better than sparkle. Team space is essential for hypercarries
Herta is literally creating her own engine
@vivid7608 It's going to push her forward. Being rewarded for slotting in another dps is way better than running 2 debuffers that do no dmg like Acheron, because you can buff both of them with an aoe harmony like Robin and have 2 sources of dmg.
Herta with 1 Erudition + harmony already deals more dmg than Acheron alone, now add Jade's or any other Erudition's damage and the gap is even bigger.
E2 + signature and he's still amazing. Having that completely change his gameplay from just E0 though.
I got E2S1 f2p, and now if i try playing his trial for the free jade, it feels so different. E0 DHIL would have a much much harder time keeping up in current meta. I see why he's not a competitive pull anymore. (As you can see from the comments, some people do still play him. No One Plays is the title of the series, but everyone is free to keep using whatever characters they like 😊)

Honestly considering Hyper carry is still an engine even if its not Follow up, Break, Dot or "Summon".
It would be great if we got some characters even 4* that actually buffed theses old 5* Characters.
It means we would be able to still play them in higher content even if Sub optimally, tho even with the "Summon" meta around the corner.
Having some new Characters for Dot would be greatly appreciated 👏

Nah. Dhil is dogshit now and you have to agree with that or you are coping. Only people who play him are the unfortunate people who invested a lot into him and can't swap now.
@@mau_jr well, there's still a lot of players who play Blade in non-MoC content. Still a 'Why No-one Plays" series is more about how character became a shadow of what they were on release. In this case, DHIL today is the shadow of the strongest DPS he was for some time.
I hope we keep the same energy when acheron falls off in a couple months

Why play around such a restrictive kit when other characters get more power for less effort?
Powercreep is inevitable in a turn-based gacha, but Star Rail went completely off the rails really, really quick.
the problem is that Star Rail doesnt respect niches. Bennett thing was that he had a huge atk buff. GI respected that fact, and never tried to directly powercreep him
HSR on the other hand doesnt respect niches at all. Bronya thing was that she had a 100% adv on her skill, at the cost of high sp cost
Sunday then decide to steal Bronya bag, steal Sparkle bag which fix Bronya problem, then also steal E5Tingyun bag for whatever reason while buffing damage more than all three, oh and also he has his own thing where he advance summons
HSR dev disrepect character niches constantly, and excessively, which id say started with the addition of Ruan Mei
@@DCminh-pe9wf Sunday is so dumb... I genuinely hate that character but he's so horrifyingly OP that I feel like I'll be breaking my accounts knees by not picking him up given he's also THE Support for an entire new Path... It's actually gross what they did with him.
@@DCminh-pe9wf Nah, Ruan Mei didn't start the disrespecting of niches imho. She's meant to be a generalist buffer (cause of her res pen and dmg buff on skill and her sig LC) and nowadays only sticks to break teams because of her weakness break efficiency, her giving free break effect and res pen being one of the few buffs that increases break dmg.
Robin is when the powercreep started going insane. Like teamwide advance forward, and sure she needs high energy but Tingyun ult into Robin can do the trick. Pretty much encroaching into all limited harmonies territory. Cause she is SP positive as advancing the team forward means you can generate more SP, buffs the entire team, pretty much power creeping by advancing the whole team and not just one character. Her buffs work for all kinds of teams, FUA? yep. Hypercarry? yep. DOT? yep. Hell, she even works for Blade.
The only other team she doesn't work is with break. Like she encroaches on Sparkle indirectly, encroaches on Bronya and even on Ruan Mei to an extent for crit and DOT teams. And look at the pattern after Robin, gallagher was made and they created Lingsha, Dr Ratio being powercrept by Feixiao who doesnt even need debuffs to do crazy damage, just FUA units. Hell, you can even say Acheron had her ult stacking being powercrept by Feixiao. Who isn't limited to only Nihility units or her sig LC.

Been using dhil to brute force all end game content ( except pure fiction ) alongside firefly. Pulled acheron e0s1 only for me to bench her 1 month later and went back to dhil
I mean e2 s1 dil is 0.5 to tier 0 but E0 s1 is definitely not competitive, so I think this video applies more to the ftp people's who didn't go for E2 (not that it isn't possible for ftp's but not as common of an occurrence.*
E2 dhil is a monster and competitive compared to DHIl e0s1 who is.. if i'm being honest a far worse unit and not competitive at all

That's 7 SP per rotation. No one, not even Gallagher can generate this much SP.
Sure, but that's maximising one value at the expense of most other value. Having more skill points means nothing if they can't be used, and DHIL isn't going to be having as many turns, or as fast, if he isn't being action advanced by Sparkle. Also rip 100% crit damage. That 7sp Sparkle loses most usefulness.
@rowanmales3430 Then just pair her with Sunday? That's the whole point of the set up. Even Huohuo can spam her skill more often for better Ult uptime.

@@AevyCh dedicating one entire character slot to a glorified skill point generator isn't worth half the amount of filling that same spot with an actually synergistic character, unless the point is just to showcase a novel team.
@@rowanmales3430 It's not like SP is the only thing she provides 🤷. She still buffs your DMG% and ATK.
Interestingly enough, none of her vertical investment clashes with this playstyle at all. It's almost as if they've planned it from the start... 🙃
The value of SP is not created equal. Going from 2EBA to 3EBA on DHIL is 2x stronger iirc, and all it costs is just one more SP. That's why they held back on giving too much buffs to Sparkle to begin with. Her true strength depends on how much value the devs want the SP to give.
ALL of Robin showcases I've seen are just wasting half of your turns to generate SP. This alone makes SP Generator Sparkle equal in strength if not close.
If we get a sustain that wants a lot of SP & have a buff that's even stronger than Sparkle's Cdmg, then there's no point in ever using Sparkle's Skill.

Some people prefer consistency over having to reset hundreds of times just for Robin to get enough Energy to Ult. That's the same as praying for Lightning Lord to hit the right enemy.

As someone who has an E2 DHIL, I can confidentally say, that he is still my strongest DPS...Yes, not in Pure Fiction, but everywhere else. I'll still get him to E6 eventually either way, even if he's at the bottom of the tier list

At this point I am just in awe as to just how good Jing Yuan is holding onto the meta. All the characters that were superior to him are in the bottom tiers now while he is rising to T0..... Nobody can convinve me Starrail dev team isnt showing him favoritism. He is the Hu Tao of Starrail. Except Hu Tao was always broken while Jing Yuan's potential was only recognised by few people at least in the early days.
One thing I was surprised not to see, I was messing around with Misha in DU at some point when I read that his “team” needs to use skill points to up his hits per ultimate. Not “him”. When I saw this I immediately wondered if this made him synergize well with IL Dan Heng, who I had, but I don’t think either of them were built very good and I didn’t have sparkle, so my bonus wasn’t able to help me very much. The team felt clunky but I assumed that was me playing wrong. I’d love it if you talked about this, because I am fascinated by these weird synergies. For example, I have Feixiao and Acheron on the same team because they both ignore weakness type. And I plan to get fugue in order to give aventurine that ability in the same team. I call it rainbow break, but as far as I can tell it’s not a real thing, I’m just making it up. Anyway, I got too excited. It would just be nice to know if Misha is a good sub dps for IL Dan Heng or if he’s got his own problems. I watch all these Star rail “why no one plays” or “why everyone plays” videos and I can’t Remember if you did a Misha one
I have several friends added in HSR - at least 3 of them play E2S1 DHIL in every endgame and 3 starring all of them. At the same time I cannot 3 star MoC with E0S1 FF and Feixiao teams
Meanwhile my Dan Heng shines like never before. Pulled his LC on his last rerun, pulled Sunday to use with him (besides Boothill and Jing Juan) and just finished his build almost to perfection. Hope for E2 one day

Not to sound like that person but DHIL and Firefly will last longer ONLY if you vertical invest in their E2S1 because action advance = more turns and more damage, and maybe invest in Sparkle 161 SPD S5 DDD + E0S1 Sunday, E1 Huohuo, etc.
(If Acheron does 700k per ultimate and E2 DHIL goes BA > Ult > BA rotation then his damage will be comparable to her)

DHIL was the first HSR char where i fell in love with his animation which is why he is e2 after that Acheron no1 else has amazed me yet but 3.0 is coming i expect something good
DHIL safe and grace that he's still 'relevant' in 2.x patch is the fact that there's a lot of enemies have imaginary weaknesses . Unlike Jingliu that just gone because there's barely ice weakness enemies in current version.

To be fair Daniel is still pretty strong actually, even compared to some of the current top dps. The issue is he takes a lot of investment and you need his E2 to truly make him shine. Jingliu, on the other hand, can't compete even with E6S5. Kinda sad.
The whole message behind this video is that the investment to make him competitive is not rewarding enough for most players.
Now I know the powercreep is worse then I thought I haven't played in like ,8 months and my DHIL was my work horse and content creators would not shut up about how overtuned he is and how he breaks the molds for DPS because he unable to be powercreeped and now to this hsr must be washed
Nah Vars, You saw what happened with JingYuan when they release Sunday. What DHIL need is a *Hits Per Action buffer* because for some reason HSR forgot about this mechanic exist just like HP decay with Blade.
The fact that I used to play DHIL when he was one of the strongest characters kinda breaks my heart. Apparently, I'm not returning to HSR anymore.

I think DHIL got released in 1.3, right? I got him in 1.3 and he was considered the best DPS. I also pulled Xiao in genshin’s 1.3 and he was always considered quite a strong DPS, but not many ever considered him “the strongest”. I have not used my DHIL for more than half a year, and when I recently tried with E1S1 Sunday he felt a lot worse than FF or FX. I also recently 36* the spiral abyss with hyper carry C1S0 Xiao on one side. Meanwhile genshin is at 5.2, while star rail have not even reached 3.0 yet-

@@TheNrat that is about the powercreep, and it does not depend on the style that much (although in genshin there are more ways to sell the character, such as usefulness in exploration or unique feeling gameplay, not just unique mechanics, so GI does not have to rely on raw power so heavily. And the endgame content is also much less important in GI than in HSR, so I can see your point, but it does not detract from how fast HP inflation and powercreep are in HSR)
@@nevermind9835 It's still a completely different game. Genshin is about characters, HSR is about archetypes and Dhil's has yet to be explored. He doesn't even have a relic set and Jing Yuan came out before he did yet look at him.
Latest AS was a doddle using two 1.x E0S1 hypercarries: Jing Yuan (+ Sunday, Robin, HuoHuo) on 1st side, DHIL (+ Tingyun, Sparkle, Aventurine) on 2nd. Having pulled Sunday, my JY and DHIL no longer fight for same supports, making it a very comfortable run. 😊
At this point there's no reason making a why everyone/no one plays on star rail because every video will all be the same, e.g. support X supports a lot or dps Y does a lot of dps ect. Star rails combat isn't that complex so they can't really have sidegrades or anything like that unless they implement new mechanics but they're not gonna do that with every single character, or even every other character so the only way is powercreep, in order to stop every characters lifespan being the same they need to fundamentally change the combat itself.
Btw I'm not making an excuse for powercreep, more just theorizing what needs to change.
What really baffles me about IL's treatment is that Hoyo seems very content to provide supports for him that are good but not perfect. Sparkle? Solves his SP needs, but has a decent chunk of her power budget locked behind Quantum characters and AoE. (She's arguably a better support for QQ) Sunday? Basically the same thing, except for Summons instead. And as you said, he doesn't get any dedicated relic or planar sets. He's like the inverse Jing Yuan; Instead of new releases and buffs allowing him to soar to new heights, it takes everything just to keep him competitive.
It's not impossible he can come back into relevance if he gets some stuff actually perfectly tailored to him, but what are the chances of that?
Yeah that's what i find out the most about sparkle though she's more of a QQ support because of how rng heavy she is with how many skill points it can take. Some parts are for DHIL but if it's hyperinvested with e2 dhil then it's not 100% sparkle only last 1.99 turns instead of 2 turns. And while his BAs deal a sh*tton of damage his ult also does too and they give him free enhances so that is also should be noted too.
In my honest opion. I do agree he got powercreeped, not hard to see tbh. But i'm only glad that i still use him, and over the course of his 3 banners(release and his 2 reruns) i've managed to obtain E6 DHIL. Even when i had him at E0S1 or E3S1 he very much was still serviceable and still was my best team prior to Firefly and Superbreak. Now i run Superbreak Firefly on one side & DHIL with Sunday(E0S1) and Sparkle(E0S0, Bronya LC) with Luocha(E0S0) for both MOC and AS. We dont need to talk about PF, also cuz in general i dont like it as much since it came out but thats fine and whatever to me.
I've just been a huge fan of Dan Heng as a character and was deadset on getting his 5 star form maxed copies so im happy with that
E2S1 DHIL 135 speed, E0S1 Sunday 134 speed, E0 160 speed Sparkle(basic attack DDD spammer), E6 161 speed Hanya(another DDD spammer, yes, 2 S5 DDD, keel yourself casuas) = 0 cycle of first half in MoC 12(off-element, btw).
People just don't realise how much power DHIL can have with 134 speed/every basic x3.

Due to the lack of a team that synergizes with him. Its time will probably come when the next grand master of lizards is released.
I think Hoyo could add a Game mode inspired by the Bridge Sequence near the beginning of Final Fantasy 10 where there's not just waves of enemies but a depth of enemies that you have to run to the end through. Characters like Dan could flow through waves of enemies that are in the back row. This Game mode would favor Erudition/Destruction and characters who's skills could reasonably hit enemies in a wider area than the current game modes contain. The fight would culminate into a fight where a boss relies on its mobs to prevent damage on itself or provides some buffs. Also, the boss is frail on its own, but at key moments, it will summon stronger units as a shield. Might even favor Remembrance units, too, as the summon could target enemies in different rows

an easy way to fix this is shoving him into a whole new archetype: Empowered BA
This would also help qingque and blade. It's already in SU and DU with the propagation blessings. Currently, iirc both qq and dhil empowered BA are still considered normal BA. It would be better if they are considered their own separate damage type, so that we can have a support that says "If an ally uses an empowered BA, thei next turn is advanced by 50% and their damage is increased by 30%" or "If an ally uses an empowered BA, 2 sp is regenerated." With how supports are overloaded these days, these buffs are pretty tame compared to someone like sunday.

Wish I knee how well Jingliu held up if everything in penacony didnt lack an ice weakness and many of them taking super reduced damage unless weakness broken.

The cost of being able to make "X IS INSANE! 3 MILLION DAMAGE! GAME BREAKING DPS!" thumbnails every patch is those same videos being obsolete a year later... and those who pulled Eidolons or signature LCs for their game breaking dps are left with a sour taste in their mouths
Its starting to be an issue for me that in any given patch I HAVE to pull the new meta characters if I wanna clear all endgame modes with full points, but those same meta charas will be inevitably powercrept and I need to pull - and pay - more again and again
I don't have firefly or rappa or any super break dps apart from boothill and pure fiction has been nigh impossible to finish with 12 stars for a while now, but if I do pull them now, how long until the HP inflation makes them no longer viable?

biggest problem is Hoyo so obsessively averse on directly buffing old characters. Many other gacha games with this level of powercreep do not shy of giving them upgrades in some forms but most notably and the one I love the most is arknights module system. Hoyo CAN make older units good again they just prefer to do it the short term way with releasing broken supports or superior versions of older chars

I feel like the only way to make him meta again is a 5 star, Sunday-level basic attack support. Like they did for Jing Yuan. Hoyoverse can easily still make the destruction trio good if they just make supports that can super buff them. Ex; HP for Blade, Basic Attack for Dhil, and Skill damage for Jingliu. If they can make Jing Yuan meta again with one unit cater made support, others can too. Hoyo just needs to focus on them.
Also, can you please make a "What Happened to Sparkle"? I just want you to go in detail of why she fell off, and how, if ever, she can be a meta support again.
