When she died from leukemia in 2008 and my ex girlfriend who also died from cancer in 2008, I took my mother's place as a regular donor. My ex-girlfriend was from Memphis and I'm proud to say that her nephew is in his 5th year of employment for St Jude's.
If you never watched That Girl ,, find it and watch it. My wife and I are halfway thru watching it in order of episodes. It’s safe cute and refreshing with all the turmoil of 2021.
That Girl, was a great comedy TV show. It had the qualities of class, humor, and lightheartedness, not found in much of the TV fare these days. The chemistry and charm that existed between the leading characters, made the show shine for quite a few years.
Agree. When I had cancer and was going through chemotherapy , I watched all the episodes of “That Girl”. I wrote a note to Marlo, telling her how her show had helped me heal, and was surprised she wrote me back! What a sweet, warm, wonderful woman.
She once said that Heidi Klum was "hotter than the Germans who threw Jews into the ovens". That was totally disgusting and she went on to say because she was Jewish she could make "Jokes like this". She was disgusting

Joan was so brilliant hosting the Tonight Show. Her interviews were so funny and so salacious yet really so substantive. We learned way more about a guest from Joan's interviews than from Johnny's.
Marlo is great here and I have to say that imo this is Joan Rivers at her best. She asked some blatant questions but kept it light and funny, not rude and pushy and she seems to like Marlo.
Joan was a great interviewer. This went on for a long time, not like now when they are on to the next question that has been written for them ahead of time. One thing I don’t like is this two ladies went under the knife way too many times, case in point for poor Joan.
Marlo would have aged beautifully without plastic surgery and Joan well, it was her demise. It gives older women's faces a rubbery and unnatural appearance. That's not attractive. It's fake and odd looking. Take a look at older women that had plastic surgery. Same rubbery features. Why would any woman want to look fake?

Joan is the best interviewer. No question is off limits. Marlo is the best interviewee because she answers all questions, she’s great with the one liners and she throws her head back and laughs at Joan’s questions.🤣🤣🤣
Marlo is just so lovely. She was strong without being aggressive (like Joan Rivers). Women these days are overly assertive and aggressive in ways which is unattractive. Marlo manages to be grounded and present without losing her femininity.
Marlo Thomas is brilliant and interviews very well. As a woman, I appreciate the women who are assertive and speak up for themselves. What I do not think is attractive is when they silence themselves and stay repressed.
Miss Marlo was magnificent! No outrageous question proposed by Joan had the shock value to deter from answering with confidence, class, complete charm. I hope Miss Thomas is happy and retained the attributes that made her appearances irresistible to the American public. I will cherish the joy watching her on television forever.
Yes, now in 2024 Marlo, 86 & Phil, 88 are still together, 43 yr. They wrote a book in 2020 about well-known couples with successful marriages. My favorite chapter was Judge Judy Sheindlin, 81 & spouse, Jerry, 90, they married twice! (47yr together) Highly recommend read

I was in my 20s and I believe in "That Girl" Show in which we can do anything and make it possible. So that's why I am crazy about how wonderfully she has turned out. Her parents must have been so happy to see how happy she is after marrying Phil Donohue, who is the ideal male during that time.

I love Marlo Thomas so much - she was the first that had "That Girl" of a single girl seeking a career. Before Mary Tyler Moore - there was "Marlo." She represented all of us back in the late 60s. Always my best to Marlo and Phil! I love Danny Thomas so any family member in show business will always be watched by me. Also, Danny Thomas represents all that is good in "humanity" by sharing his wealth as he promised St. Jude" when he became successful. I believe that promised he made to St. Jude must have been some "PRAYER" that I do believe asking St. Jude is true to what you seek. I truly believe in Danny Thomas fulfillment of his greatest faith to follow through which as we see he did by St. Jude Hospital. May God continue to bless Danny and his family forever.
Danny said the reason he started it was to balance out all the wrong things he had done in his life. Everyone laughed, but it sounded like truth to me. Why else would he say that ?
Marlo is such a delight! I love listening to her wisdom and perspective on life. She looks and sounds so much like my mom that it's bittersweet for me to watch her because my mom is much older now. I wish that my mom was younger now that I'm older. I would love to have her around longer. Anyway, thanks Marlo for your inspiration. I would like to have a relationship like you have some day.
