Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad 99 year old steam locomotive 488 steams out of Chama, New Mexico with a 360 ton passenger train and 200 crew and passengers onboard. Right out of the yard she is on a grade and in two miles will dig into the 4 percent climb up Cumbres Pass. 488 will be at full throttle as she tackles the steep climb and your buddy Twinky will be doing the shoveling to keep her steaming up the mountain. Your buddy Twinky is 53 but this ole’ “ash cat” can still keep her hot.
