  • This is day 9 of our land and sea adventure (May 2022). We are in Victoria, British Columbia and we explore on our own this day. We find a beautiful bayside park to walk along and we stop at a cafe to test for the virus prior to flying home the next day. (At the time of our trip, it was a requirement to text negative prior to flying back into the U.S.)
Robert tests positive.....our adventure continues and we end up doing a back-to-back cruise! WOW! We always wanted to do one but this one was different. We had to be in separate cabins, Julia tested negative.
    Join us.....

Oh, it's SO nice to see what looks like an all-day stop in Victoria. We recently cruised on Discovery Princess and we only got an evening there - I said it must be beautiful during the day, so it was great to find your video - thanks for sharing!

Hi Fraser, yes Victoria is a beautiful city to see in the day. We, like you, were there in the evening last time we visited so it was nice to see it in the day.

Thanks for the video! Quick question, so were you guys originally getting off in Vancouver but instead of Princess paying for a quarantine in Canada they let you stay on the ship for free for the quarantine period?

Correct. At the time, my quarantine period according to Canada rules was suppose to be 10 days. Princess had an arrangement with a local hotel in Vancouver for covid isolation passengers, however, they did not have any rooms available, so Princess had no choice but to isolate me on the ship. Both Julia and myself sailed back to Whitier at no cost.

so I have question for you. We went to Alaska this past summer and I also ended up testing positive but we didn't know it until we got home (we left from Seattle). Did you guy have to go all the way back up to Anchorage/Whittier before you could get off the ship?

Hi Julie, yes we did have to go back to Anchorage and then fly home. Thankfully, the CDC has backed off on these requirements.

@@seadayz1883 Thank you for confirming. I'm almost finished watching your next video where you answer things like this but my husband and I are thinking about doing a similar cruise to this in 2024.
