I live in Greenfield and its almost like there's 2 completely different towns now. One that's wiped out and gone and the other part that has almost no damages
thankfully i think it wasnt big enough to get the whole town, still a devistating tornado, ef4 maybe.
Praying all the people can rebuild.

My brother lives in Greenfield...I had no idea what happened till he called. Now I'm looking at this....just...dang. Where I live we just caught the outside of the storm...I could not believe the rain....unreal.
His hand was holding a camera on the right side when they were moving! How? Then bravely he ran to help potential victims before the tornado is out of site! Tornados turn on a dime all the time! Amazing!

So glad they have basements. We lived in Lincoln when I was a little girl (early 60s) and I can remember how bad the storms can be up there. Makes me sick how much damage is being done everywhere.

I don't know about living in Iowa.. Maybe if the family has 100's of Acres of Farmland but there's no other reason to live there. Also, take some advice from us Florida Home Owners. Our building code requires structures with 1 foot thick concrete walls. The insurance companies won't cover these stick built homes.

How do you unalive in a Tornado in Iowa? We ALL know exactly what we should do. I'll bet they were watching it. This is why tornado chasers are idiots and horrible people.
Why? They see things and can warn the local meteorologists. They are also some of the first people on scene and many help with rescues.
I'm sure at least 1 or more fatalities were maybe caught off guard in there cars. Sometimes they are hard to see if rain wrapped. Also they can look farther away then they really are from you and it's hard to tell how fast there going Sometimes. There have been cases where people do exactly what there supposed to do in a tornado and still are killed or gravely injured. Elderly people can't get to safety quick enough maybe, or in poor health and can be more susceptible to injuries that would normally not kill somebody. Don't really matter though just extremely sad.
