I spent 16 months locked up in the Texas prison system - the only time in my life I've had to endure such an experience. In one of the units I was sent to, this video played on the television that was bolted to a steel shelf on the wall. The channel was called JCTV. The beauty of this song and the looks in the eyes of all the people in the video did much to carry me through some of the hardest days of my life. I can only say that Brooke is beautiful and this song will remain one of my favorites.

Isn't it a reference to the Monopods, the one legged (mythical) race of people in Africa who would rest by lying on their backs and holding their large foot up in the air to shade their face? They were called the shade footed ones by early travelers. So if you are walking on "shadow feet" you are trying to walk with one leg.

He was the 'sus or the scape goat who took all of our credit and all of our condemnation over the cliff. All this, so we could break even and be serene and live in peace and not live in spite. Remember the "knowledge" is not your own. It is His. It appears to be graceful and relevant and exploitable like an orphan or a widow or a golden ticket, or forbidden unguarded fruit. Know that 'comprehend' and 'prey' both mean grasp and it is easy to be a predator to an unguarded lamb. Remember your Father is not of this world. You are un-affiliated. No earthly 'filios' (father) but God. You are the bride of Christ. You are the virgin. Jeremiah said: "Set up road markers for yourself; make yourself guideposts; consider well the highway, the road by which you went. Return, O virgin Israel, return to these your cities."
