The thicker one is called Fibreboard or Kariboard while the softer one is cardboard/chipboard. I hope this helps ❤

Please which needle size are you using? My manual machine cannot sew m board. I don't know if the board i got is too hard. Plus, i didn't really get what you did at the gusset the angles you sewed down isn't clear 🙏

I use needle size 22 and 23 depending on how many layers I'm working on.
The gusset will be easy if you have a cylinder bed machine. I should release a tutorial for gusset using the flat bed machine
