Yes, I also had a more favorable view of Obama by entire life. When I was watching the 2016 election, I was neutral. And during the 2020 election, leading up to the final results, I had a lean-support of Biden and didn't really like Trump that much. But now I'm a big Trump supporter, so what changed? Well I'm only 15, so that means in 2016 I was only 7 and had no clue what was going on at all. Then over the next 4 years the only things I heard about were headlines on the mainstream media, which obviously gave me a more negative view of Trump. It wasn't until 2020, when I was 11, that I started to pay attention to the corruption around COVID and LGBT that I started opening up my eyes to other things as well. So from 2021-2023 I had a negative view of the Democrats but also not a great view of Trump. It wasn't until 2024 when he was campaigning and more about his past came to my knowledge that I started to like the guy quite a bit.
Elon like Joe Rogan were both left wing, but both felt like the democratic party has shifted into something it wasn't, more identity politics and things like that. I suppose they feel, like many Americans, like the democratic party no longer represents them. That's my theory on why Trump won by such a considerable margin.
During Lincoln's time, its was Republicans who fought for the freedom of slaves and supported liberation. & democrats who opposed it. If party itself can change its own ideology, then there's nothing wrong with people changing their's.
