    I have heard great things about this shoe Chris. Most reviews have been really positive. Glad to hear it's given you some of your mojo back when it comes to getting out there again mate. That's really good to hear. 😎🤘

    Chris, thank you for this video. I truly miss your training videos where you were regularly posting videos of you training for a goal race. I hope you will be able to do another training series again someday.

      Thanks Cathy. They will be coming back. Fitness is gradually improving and I'm trying to decide of a Spring race to train for. In the meantime I have signed up for a 10k race in 4 weeks time.

      @@HereWeAreRunning Chris, thank you for your reply. Great news that you are training for a 10K in 4 weeks. On your channel, you have a video of a 10K race you did in London some years ago that I have watched several times. I hope you do another nice video for this 10K. Good luck.

      @@HereWeAreRunning Great! I am a slow runner, so if you go slow in the 10K it is not going to bother me at all -- I just enjoy the races and I enjoy your videos of them! Thank you.

    First! And I got the TrailFly Ultra G 280 a few days ago and went on a first run yesterday for 6 miles and, already, this just may be my favorite trail runner already and I have a good bunch: the Ultra G 300 Max, Speedland SL:HSV, Mafate Speed 4, Speedgoat 5, Tecton X, Endorphin Edge, Pulsar Trail Pro, and Cloudventure. I also have the Novablast 3 TR but, honestly, this isn't a "real" trail shoe.
    The G 280 can pretty much do everything really well: technical trails, long distance, speed, mixed terrains (even some road running), maybe even some amount of muddy trails and wet conditions. I like the G 300 Max but it is on the heavy side. It's more like a heavy-duty Ford truck. This one is more like a nimble Jeep. This just may be the all-rounder I've been looking for.
    It's not the fastest, the lightest, the most robust, or the most cushioned like some of the aforementioned trail running shoes I have, but it does pretty much everything really well and I can take it out on a run in virtually any terrain and I'll be very happy running in this. With others, I have to choose for specific terrains or running situations and a few are a bit heavier than I'd like at times, but the G 280 is the one I'd be confident in *ANY* terrain or situation.
    I just ordered the Boomerang insole from inov-8 to get the most out of the G 280. I can't say I've tried every trail shoe out there, but I have a lot of nice ones and this is the "Trail Shoe of the Year" for me. Looking forward to the next run in this!

      Any thoughts on the TF g280 and the TF g300 for multiday backpacking and toebox width comparison to Altra Lone Peak? For reference I use the LP4 and 6. Love the wide toe box (LP4 a bit sloppy, lie the LP6 fit better as it is more secure on my foot).

      @@neobello6736 The G280 has a more accommodating toe-box and comfortable upper compared to the G300. It's also noticeably lighter and feels really good on the tarmac as well. I haven't tried the Altra Lone Peak.

    Hi Chris, Thanks for the great review. Nice to see you putting them through their paces.I've run into problems recently myself. I have neuropathy in my feet, which is a side effect from the chemo that I had last year. I'm looking for a shoe which has provides support and plenty of cushioning , as the nerve damage can be painful after 3-5km. Would this shoe be a good one for me to consider, or do you have any other shoes that you could recommend. I've been running in Nike Vomeros - a road shoe, and they used to suit me, but things have changed. I'm running a few more trails now, as opposed to roads because the softer surface suits me better at the moment. Would appreciate your thoughts. Cheers! Phil

      Philip, I am very sorry to read here about your chemo and nerve damage problems. I hope you will soon return to good health and be able to run pain-free.

      Sorry to hear this Phil. I hope you can find a shoe that helps. This shoe has good cushioning. It's not too soft but still nicely comfortable. Like most trail shoes it's a neutral shoe, rather than a stability shoe so depending on how much support and the type of support you need, it may or may not be suitable for you. The shoe has an 8mm heel to toe drop, which is perfect for me but getting the right drop level for you could help with the comfort you get from a shoe. If I were you, I'd go to a running shoe shop and try out a few different pairs of shoes and see how they feel for your feet.

      @@cathynewyork7918 Many thanks Cathy. I'm doing well but just have to contend with a few side effects from treatment. I'll find a way through the problems. I've been helped along the way by a lot of the UK You Tube runners.It's been a big motivation for me over a couple of challenging years.

    Did this shoes give you pronations support?

    • @HereWeAreRunning
      @HereWeAreRunning  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a neutral shoe (most trail shoes are neutral) but I didn't have any concerns with pronation when I've been running in it out on the trails.
