Having lived in the Midwest from birth I followed the advice of Horase Greely who wrote "Go West, young man, and grow up with the country."When I graduated from the university I went west in 1970 at the age of 22. After 53 years I've never regretted it ever!

I never saw these shows as a child or adolescent. Enjoying these retro shows now for the very first time.

Hard to believe that people were not familiar with the word "karma" in 1966.

      When Tom asked "what is karma?" I'm yelling "it's a bitch, it's a bitch!".🤣🤣

My GOD the panel has fun together. A great blend of personalities and types. Kitty was especially effervescent this time.

Orson Bean's "the Weird chicken of Putney, Vermont" comment is so funny. What a treasure he was.

I like when the panelists and the contestants got together on the stage at the end of the show. It reminded me of the Saturday Night Live custom, which is where SNL may very well have gotten the idea.

A time capsule...with all of under twenties in 1970. At least I picked the right guy for that panel.

It interesting that none of the panelists ever heard of Joseph and Mary going to Bethlehem for the Roman census.

    • @RayWhiting
      @RayWhiting 5 ปีที่แล้ว

There was no census at that time.

    • @RayWhiting

@@williamanthony9090 - No, there wasn't. It's not up for discussion or argument. No census was taken at the time that Jesus was allegedly born, no reason for Joseph to travel for a census.

I've picked more winner in the triple crown than anyone. Including the last two triple crown winners American Pharaoh and Always Dreaming. I'm the best.

To all the youngsters watching this, the reference in game 3 that contestant 3 made about not being able to tell the difference between boys and girls? This was the start of the hippie era. Figure it out with that clue.

Perhaps they're Jewish (a lot of entertainers were/are) or otherwise non-Christian. Kitty Carlisle was of German Jewish heritage.

Well, Peggy, they did try to ‘fix’ it & legalized abortion years after this episode. And China allows only 1 child.

What are you talking about? It’s a play of the studio lights shining on his hair. I think Bud Collyer was smooth and gracious and handsome.

You can't see that there's a great deal of dark saturation throughout this video? It has nothing to do with Bud's hair.

Thank goodness the Orson Bean type of comedian has passed into history. How annoying.

Orson Bean starred in stage musical comedies - he is a bit offbeat but more often than not his comments are clever and amusing. And his doodles and drawings on his ballot cards are very good.
And he was wonderful in the episode that he did of Grace and Frankie and he was also very good in the two episodes he did of murder she wrote.
