We will have to wait and see as we have no access to keep up with what has been sprayed. The fish can't leave the lake obviously but we may have hunt around for them if they have moved.
@@gmooney57 I was on Garcia on June 10th and the water was VERY low. I was able to run the canal that parallels CR512. Once I got to the north end I had to use the trolling motor for several hundred yards to get to a location where I could get on plane. I am not going to go back until the water level comes up. Too detrimental for equipment for me....
It always effects the fishing for me. And ask yourself this. Would you eat any fish from that lake after they spray. If the answer is no then speak up and ask fwc to please stop ruining our fisheries like they have done to lake Okeechobee. Disgusting and sad how we attack our environment
Thanks for keeping us posted….looking forward to the updates
We'll post update as soon as we can. Thanks
Narrows down where I’m taking Coach next week. Thanks Guys
Good luck!
Wish, Garcia, and 3 Forks, for the channels, cleared of floating weeds, are kept opened. Seems they are forgotten by ST. John's Water Management.
I would be curious to know what chemical they are using. Then could maybe figure out what vegetation will be affected.
Agreed
Well darn. Are the water levels safe in Garcia? Need a back up plan for my friends from the Ozarks.
Waters levels are down at every nearby lake. SJRWMD informs us that the Headwaters Ramp will now open on the 25th.
Taking some people from the Ozarks for their first time on Headwaters on the 22nd. Hope it doesn’t affect the area too much. Your thoughts?

Good morning guys. Any word on what the condition might be for Headwaters this weekend?
SJRWMD has pushed the opening day to June 24th. We hope to post an update later today.

Absolutely, they ruined Lake O
They better not nuke it like they did Keenansville 2 summers ago. Wish they would leave it alone

Guess they haven’t learned lesson from Okeechobee 😂
