Building A Device to Help The Mute TALK?

Video vlog type presentation about my interactions with the first ever Mute person I have ever met, our conversations, and my spectacular effort to create something that will let them speak.. or at worst, make a neat gadget to play with. And I need YOUR help to make this a reality! Tips, tricks, recommendations for components, I'll take anything to try and get this thing seen to the end!
