What's weird is that he never actually gets stabbed in the eye, right...? That whole scene is hectic, but I'm not crazy, right? She stabs at his face with the needle multiple times, stabs the skin *_around_* his eye repeatedly, cracks one of his glasses lenses by stabbing the needle through it, but the needle never actually stabs his eyeball. That always seemed like a weird injury to leave out.
The director for this movie is also directed the Alien Romulus which amazing he definitely respect source material and enhanced it for modern audiences.

One of the best theater experiences I’ve ever had, from the opening scene when you see the Nostromo wreckage the whole theater was amped and hooked right off the bat, and it was paced at a breakneck speed, was visually stunning, the practical effects looked amazing, Andy stole the whole movie, and the film was such a love letter to the franchise and what makes it so good, while also updating things for modern audiences just enough, while still feeling true to the OG film. It was incredibly well made.

A lot of folks think this is a remake, but Fede Alvarez himself said it's a direct sequel to the original film. He said it on his Twitter back when this came out. He said it was the same cabin, Necronomicon, and that's even Ash's car rusted away in front of the cabin that Mia and her brother was sitting on.
In “Evil Dead Rise” it’s mentioned there are 3 Necronomicons. That would seem to imply that the original films, the 2013 film, and “Evil Dead Rise” are those three books and take place in the same universe. Which would make them all canon.
It is gratifying that the guy who read the passage and started the whole mess got absolutely WRECKED WAAAAAYYYY MORE then anyone else in the film. He got a beating from EVERY possesed person!

If thats the case thats really dope. This film introduced me to fede alverez my first year in college. One of my greateast theatre crowd experiences. Fan ever since.

I loved the mis-direct of David being our new "Ash". Mia is such an awesome lead, the last 20 minutes of the movie are amazing. You guys missed the "Groovy" post credits scene! Excited for Evil Dead Rise!
The movie is scary and the violence is insane BUT the scariest part of the whole movie for me and gave deep chills is when she is on the bed, head leaning back, eyes wide, whispering to her brother they need to leave after the trees. Some of the most effective acting I have ever seen and absolutely chilling.
Tara and Roxy joked about it before, but I genuinely would love from them to watch some of Ash vs Evil Dead!! Even if it’s the first 2 episodes. The joke about Ash making crosses and the end of the second episode is amazing.
I like the theory that the 3 books seen in Army of Darkness are the 3 books from the different styles of the movies. Meaning Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness and Ash vs Evil Dead are all one of the books. This remake is the 2nd book and Evil Dead Rise is the 3rd book from the table when Ash mispronounces the words in Army of Darkness.

Evil Dead Rise is leagues better to me. It feels like a true successor to original Evil Dead. This one was just a straight up gore fest remake of the original.

You ladies were all fun and smiles in the intro, and I loved it, but I knew once we got into the reaction, that wasn't going to last long. lol I love the originals, but by the time we get to Army of Darkness, it had veered WAY too much into slapstick for my taste. I'm glad these newer movies in the franchise have planted it firmly back into it's horror roots. BTW, Roxy our main characters here, were not blood related to the characters in the opening. It simply took placed in the same cabin.

This movie is really good , but the only thing that kinda bugs me is the fact that , how in the hell no one in the cabin can't hear anyone screaming or any type of noise of someone being attacked , they are all in close quarters so there's no way they can't hear anything , unless the demon did something to all of them so that they can't hear what's going on

Yeah he’s definitely really good at refreshing old franchises, and showing love and respect to them while updating it. He’s a great horror director

I love the originals, but by the time we get to Army of Darkness, it had veered WAY too much into slapstick for my taste. I'm glad these newer movies in the franchise have planted it firmly back into it's horror roots.
BTW, Roxy our main characters here, were not blood related to the characters in the opening. It simply took placed in the same cabin.

This movie is such an experience it really takes it up to 100 with the intensity and gore and is genuinely scary 😂

This movie is really good , but the only thing that kinda bugs me is the fact that , how in the hell no one in the cabin can't hear anyone screaming or any type of noise of someone being attacked , they are all in close quarters so there's no way they can't hear anything , unless the demon did something to all of them so that they can't hear what's going on

I think at the time it came out, this movie had the most gallons of blood used in a movie. With that ending, I can see that
I've heard that but don't believe it, Dead Alive has way more blood in it.
