- When I found him in the pasture I could tell something was wrong. Mama cow wasn't taking care of this baby calf. He was shivering and shaking. He needed to get warm. He needed colostrum. We've never dealt with this before. Hypothermia.

Bringing a calf into your living room..now that’s dedication. Nice work!
Haha...yes. We're passionate about what we do:)
You did a wonderful job with that calf. The mother finally accepted it. A real Christian deed. God Bless you.
I am really proud of you and your family that you didn't neglect your church activities.
Agreed❤
Ah, that is literally a heart-warming story.
Yeah 😁
I started tearing up when you brought him in your house. Thank you for being so loving
You just said “that is so cool!” When he stood up! No YOU ARE SO COOL
You saved his life
Thank you!!!!
Funny interesting story. We have mini highland. The rancher next to us run angus. One of the mamas had twins and she rejected one. I found him and bottle fed him raised him with our mini heard. He is 2 and he is the exact size of our heard. A mini Angus. So mama could have rejected him because he was what the vets call a poor producer or he just grew to the size of his enviorment. Well done guys!
Oh wow! That's kinda cool. Good job 😊
Love and caring the driving force of everything. God bless you all!
Love that you guys took care of this calf the way you did!

What a crazy experience! It's cool that the calf was responding to you excitedly like a dog. 😆
Way better than any sweater clad house dog 😉
@@morethanfarmers Hahaha! Without a doubt! 🤣
I love that you have all that straw in your van.. and put the calf back there. We pretend my Jeep Grand Cherokee is a truck too. 😂
😁😂
That was so fun! I'm glad he got to go back with his mom. Happy ending!
Yes! Perfect story 😊
One of my favorite videos 😀
Wow so. funny,I cried when I thought the calf wast going to live,Hero thinks you're his mom, Now that's real when you stay up to make sure he's warm and fed,You are teaching your children how to love the land ,Amazing work with the calf,
Glad you enjoyed!
My daughter had a ewe reject her baby lamb, which was born on Good Friday. They have been bottle feeding’ Grits’ , the baby lamb, and she has been thriving and doing great! Like with Hero the baby cow, the plan is to reintroduce Grits to her mom as soon as it seems possible to do so. Happy to see all the TLC you guys gave Hero had a happy ending. Great job!
So glad to hear it's going well! That can be a little bit of a heart wrencher. Keep up the good work!
Excellent results of your loving efforts! God has blessed your Father with a calf that lived and is thriving!
I love this video! Good on you guys for doing everything you could for him!
Thank you!
These are memories in the making. So glad that Hero is doing well!
We had an interesting and exhausting week(last week). We had made the decision to butcher one of our ewes. She didn't appear bred and it was strike number 3 for her. We had already butchered one of our cows and a ram earlier in the week. My husband was working, so I sent my oldest son out to make the kill. I was working in the front garden, when I heard him call for me. He had gone out there only to find her lambing. She had no milk. My oldest went ahead and butchered her, while the other children and I dried/fed the wee lamb. Needles to say, Ollie has had plenty of human interaction as we are raising him. He thinks he is one of us. 😂 Thankfully these instances are rare, but they are part of the homestead life. And yesterday we had a healthy ewe lamb born. It's officially spring. ❤️
Wow that’s crazy! Glad it worked out though.
Beautiful people who have a heart for Father YHWH natural design. So inspiring , brought tears to my eyes. 🙏🤗🤍💜💙❤️

It was stressful in the middle of it, but it really is good to look back on.
Wow your so amazing,, brought tears to my eyes
For future reference. I have done this with calves and 2 goats. When frozen ,hypothermia, I used a blankets and a blow dryer to get them warm all over around their face and mouth too. Then I massaged the tongue to get it warmed up
Thank God it saved my babies.. Then they can suck
That sounds good.. we learned a few things and we’ll know better for next time 😊
Hi Codi, what a great video of your and your families dedicated care of Hero the Calf. Great to see him doing so well and the bond he formed in your great care of him. It would have been great if you had one of those long tubes you can put all the way to the stomach and feed him that way at the start. I've seen ranchers use those to get Colostrum to calves that you too cold and weak to suck on a bottle.
Yeah that could’ve worked.. those can be scary to use if you’re not used to it.. And I’m not 😊
That little calf really loves You~ you are the Hero!! Very heartwarming, thank you for sharing~
Thank you! It was very rewarding:)
Yep because some mother animals like cows or other are supposed to protect their baby but seem she did not want it and wanted him to die some animals are just like that too because some babies are unloved by their mother exactly like some human kids its sad but glad you take care of him.
Impressive.
Two thumbs up !!!
This is so cute
Great video.
Made my day

How cute and gorgeous is this
Quick thinking on your feet, makes a great farmer.
Sometimes you shoot from the hip 😏
New subscriber! Looking good!!!
Welcome!!
❤❤❤
Great video, thank you
What a great video!
💖💖💖💖💖
The bloopers actually are good to be part of the video, don't cut those parts. I don't know the right term to use but it makes the video more relatable and fun to watch or more relaxing to watch rather than all serious and seem to be fast paced doing chores or it's like you are always in a hurry to say and do things
Thanks for the tips! Definitely noted😊
Having a few old wool blankets or even an electric blanket for just such emergencies with animals, might be an idea to think about setting up for the future?
Yes!
Rubbing him to stimulate his circulation helps also. Hot water bottles to his belly.
Touched our hearts and we are starting out but so get it!! how did twice cubes work and need update on Hero! Can you do a update on hero and temps with twice cubes?
That’s great! Since she’s not givin much milk I didn’t get more cubes yet. I will once she freshens again and she’s giving more. I wanna do a video about Hero, but he is doin great! Livin the steer life out in my dad’s pasture 😏
We need a follow up
You’re right! I’ll see what i can do 😊
Imprinting
with my mine i have to use a calf tube to feed them make sure its her milk and rub them like crazy with towl
Check out a few Sandi Brock lambing video. Very interesting how she has learned about warming lambs. Lots of interesting info. I know sheep and cows are different but might be interesting.
Thanks!
A Bull-Calf!!!
Bless you. Don't know if true, but saw that wd40 sprayed on cattle, etc, keeps flies from biting
Cow name please reply
Not sure what you're asking.

I take it you're going to slash his throat when he gets old enough. But morally justified cause you gave him a good life.
you are saving cows with the intention of exploiting them for milk and meat, all for the sake of profit, while feigning kindness to generate income from TH-cam ads! If your love for animals is genuine, you should avoid exploiting, consuming, or harming them. Additionally, it's concerning how gullible and misguided your audience may be, perceiving you as a compassionate individual
GRACE
Only to the extent that we show mercy to others, people, animals, birds, fish, plants..., only to that extent should we expect God's mercy.
It is logical and completely just that in the lack of grace and love, God's wrath occurs and it takes the place of the missing sublime qualities of His Image in which we were created.
Christ is coming, yes indeed.
