It has rained all week and we are waterlogged in the Houston area. I invite you to join me as I have a few garden observations in our soggy but not as hot garden.
Happy for your update and seeing how much the plants are recovering and productive again a couple more weeks and it will be even better. Glad you are having lower temperatures also. One day at a time my friend 🌺
Good to see an update. Everything looks so lush and green. The passion vine is beautiful. I think they are kind of crazy looking. ha! In a good way. They look like something from willy Wonka's garden. Or an alien planet.
WOW Crystal, that Passion Vine is gorgeous!! My purple Porter Weed has no blooms 😞 But I’m hoping they come back. Thank you for the information on the Porter Weed.❤ And just bought two Turks Cap plants, in one gallon pots yesterday.
Hi Renae! I agree - the passion vine is showing off right now! 😄 Your passion vine will start blooming again when temps get a little lower. After the heat passes, fertilize them a little and they will not disappoint you. My son lives in the Dallas area, and he has some Turk's cap in his backyard and it looks so good right now.
Ooooh that passion vine! Mine has hardly bounced back at allll since the great gulf fritillary chow down two months ago! I thought it would come back more quickly. Yours give me hope! It’s so happy! I love all the butterflies photobombing your video! 😂 I’ve got to cut back my salvia amistad a bit! It really got knocked over by a “Hurricane Beryl limb” falling in the middle of it! 😮 Ugh! Red wasps drive me crazy! I think they get all my Pipevine cats. 😢 Thank you for such a great tour!! Your garden is so beautiful!
I loved it when you had your "great gulf fritillary chow down"! It is so fun to have these butterflies in the yard! If you have the room, consider growing multiple plants in the same area. I do that and have found the passion vine grows nice and thick in the summer full sun. I have 5 panels of trellis and know I originally planted at least 6 passion vine plants.
@@ButterfliesNBirds It’s so fun to have that many caterpillars! I can’t believe it’s taking so long for the passion vine to bounce back- I want round two of gulf frits! I’m definitely thinking of adding more passionvine all along my house by the driveway. I have a ton of climbing roses there and exactly zero of them are really thriving. I have the structure there for a vine to grow on already in place, so I’m thinking about changing things up a bit!
This is my first season with the Mexican flame vine and it has not flowered this summer, I don’t feel like it’s grown much either ( could be because it’s new) I also have it in the ground. I was opting for it to light up the corner of my yard and be an eye catcher! With the Turks cap I noticed that although they flower all summer they tend to be most beautiful forward the END of the season in late summer!
Mine has grown a lot, but just isn't flowering. It put on a show in the spring, and I suspect it will also bloom very well sometime after August, depending on temperatures. Last year I had gardeners comment that their Mexican Flame Vine flowered all summer long. Now I am wondering if they weren't in maybe a more temperate climate? I appreciate the spring and fall blooms, but this might prompt me to move mine in the yard next year.
I am with you on the Mexican vine flame. Mine flowered in the spring and I go out everyday to see signs of flowering but haven’t yet seen one. So keeping my fingers crossed😊
Hello neighbor 😊 Lake Jackson here. This rain has been crazy. My husband is chomping at the bit to get out there and mow 😂. Your vines are looking wonderful! I did not know Wasps killed the Caterpillars 🥺 uggg 😡 Can't believe it is almost August already, can you? You take good care and we will see you very soon.
Hello neighbor! I agree - the rain was really getting old. But I think we are now going to have a sunny week. (My husband is wanting to get out and mow too! 😄)

You are so sweet and encouraging! (I am finally catching up on my TH-cam video comments!) 😊

Hahahahaha! That is a great way to describe passion vine flowers! 😂
Nice!
Thank you! 😊

What direction does that face?

@@ButterfliesNBirdsbut it’s a Mexico native!
You are so right it is! I was hoping it would flower for me all summer though ...
